Realistic RTS Battlespace Command

Battlespace Command is developed by Wirraway Software, known for mobile strategy games Pacific Fire, Blitzkreig Fire, and Redfire. Now, they make RTS in an amazing way.

Although no release window has been announced, Battlespace Command has the potential to become a major player in the world of military RTS, as it appears to be packed with features that will give strategy fans full control over the global battlefield.

In this new RTS experience, players will use electronic warfare systems, communication networks, and radar to monitor the battlefield as the battle progresses, deploying forces including: infantry units, helicopters, strategic bombers, naval forces, and ballistic weapons.

This will be a single-player game that operates on a variety of scales, from urban warfare scenarios to mind-boggling distances. According to the game’s Steam page, Battlespace Command will include: “Battlefields of up to 6,250,000 km², generated from real-world data with devastating terrain and urban combat.”

The game will reportedly include more than 50 playable countries when it launches, with plans to add more in the future, with each country having unique strengths and equipment.

Full maintenance support will be available, as well as scenario creation and a mission editor, giving fans a real sandbox experience, and according to Wirraway’s website, “Battlespace Command puts players in control of modern military operations on an unprecedented scale. Army groups, assault weapons, helicopters, drones, electronic warfare systems, naval assault forces, naval assault forces work together in an integrated real-time simulation where positioning, integration, and mastery of information determine victory.”

There’s a long list of impressive features that make Battlespace Command so great, but the standout is the ability for players to switch between a fully simulated 3D battlefield and their tactical command map, which uses “realistic, physics-based simulation of sensors and signals.”

Battlespace Command has a lot of potential to be an immersive and complex RTS game, but we probably won’t have a long release date window.
