10 Best Meccha Chameleon Maps Based on Nostalgia

Tons of custom maps appeared in Meccha Chameleon. You have maps that are tricky and meant to deceive others, and then you have maps that are full of details, that offer many hiding places for wimeons.
10 Best Hiding Places in the Meccha Chameleon Mansion
Lots of places to choose from.
Instead of those types of maps, maybe you want to go to a place you remember well. Maybe it’s your choice to hide among the rocks and grass in the field of Hyrule, or sneak into the plot of Spongebob’s house.
Many maps have been made based on children’s games, movies, and television shows, so you’re bound to find one that resembles a franchise you remember well.

Courage is a Cowardly Dog
Spooky
From 1999 to 20002, Courage the Cowardly Dog amused many children with its mild horror and funny howling dog. Millennials can still hear the sound of a TV announcer whenever they think of a program introduction.
The Courage the Cowardly Dog map by Meccha Chameleon, however, gives you a glimpse of the house in the center, and is complete with tons of callbacks to the show.
There are masks, enemies, and more. If you look outside, you can even see Courage running around the house while King Ramses stands behind. I can still hear him yelling for his slab to be returned.
9
Bikini Bottom
Pineapple Under the Sea
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea? Yes, SpongeBob SquarePants, of course, but the map of Bikini Bottom is over his house; it has many memorable places too.
For those who grew up loving the show, and those who watch it to this day, you can find the houses of Spongebob, Squidward, and Patrick. In addition to those living on Conch Street, you can find the Krusty Krab, Jellyfish Fields, Goo Lagoon, and the Chum Bucket.
You can also reach the Krusty Krab, jump into the sewers, and find the evil Doodlebob. It’s all a throwback part of the show and it’s great.

Board game back rooms
Ancient Explosion
If you’re a fan of classic board games, you’ll love Board Game Backrooms, as it honors many of the classics. You have a giant monopoly board, snakes and ladders, chess sets, Jenga pieces, and much more.
My favorite part of the map is the giant Dungeons & Dragons books lying next to the Monopoly board. As a D&D fan, I find it fun to try to paint myself on a book cover.
There’s a lot packed into this map, so be sure to explore every area so you don’t end up missing anything the next time you play.
7
Dragonsreach
Skyrim
Perhaps the most prominent area in Skyrim is Whiterun and Dragonsreach. This large building stands tall, overlooking Whiterun, and is one of the places you see at the beginning of the game, and you return to it often.
Although it may not sound like a good idea to name the Skyrim map Meccha Chameleon, the game was released in 2011, which makes it 15 years old, and many adults have fond memories of playing this game when they were a child or teenager.
The map is excellent, covering the entire interior of the building. It has many hiding places, and you can also hide in places around the building. It’s fun, and it will remind you of your first trip to Whiterun all those years ago.

The Daily Planet
Your Main News Source
The Daily Planet is a major news outlet featured in the Superman movies, as it is the company that Louis Lane and Clark Kent both work for. This plot has been shown many times, but the iteration created in Meccha Chameleon is a bit new.
The creator could have pulled from any Superman media, but they stuck with the design featured in the 2025 Superman movie directed by James Gunn. You can even see some movie footage on various televisions in the building.
Although not from the old 1990s show, the Daily Planet is still an oddball character that many remember from the various Superman media they watched growing up.

5
Peach’s Castle Deluxe
Mario 64
I’ve talked about the Peach’s Castle Deluxe map many times, and it still stands as a great map, but for the purposes of this list, it’s one of the least interesting maps you’ll find.
There are many who miss Super Mario 64 a lot, and those people will have a blast looking around this map, as it’s full of things ripped straight from the game.
You have Mario’s classic enemies, stars, chests, pipes, and more. If you can name it, this map probably has it, as long as it’s from Super Mario 64. Just don’t try to jump into one of the graphics, because it won’t work.
4
Luigi’s Houses
Ghost Hunting
Luigi’s Mansion is one of those games that everyone thinks of when they think of the GameCube era, as it was one of the most popular titles in the system, and one of the most unique Mario titles.
If you wanted to revive Luigi’s Mansion, you can do so by downloading the Luigi’s Mansion map for Meccha Chameleon, as it is a good map with many hiding places, and it will also bring back memories of tracking ghosts.
The map itself is very well designed, and has that classic GameCube feel that will make you feel the warm embrace of nostalgia as you get shot by the hunter.
3
Kokiri forest
The Legend of Zelda
If there’s one place people remember in Ocarina of Time, it’s the Kokiri Forest. After all, you spend part of the game here, and this is where your journey finally begins.
However, before the Ocarina of Time Remake comes out, you have to jump into the Meccha Chameleon and play the Kokiri Forest map to get a shot of that Legend of Zelda nostalgia. The map is lovely, and has plenty of hiding places if you want to get creative.
Also, there are some nice details, like the hidden Triforce, the enemies, and even the Skill Kid, who can be found playing his flute in the upper part of the map.
2
Raccoon City Police Department
Resident Evil 2
As a fan of the Resident Evil series, I couldn’t help but add the Raccoon City Police Department map to the list, as it represents one of my favorite games in the series. Currently, the map only contains the lobby, but the entire police department would be too big to hide in.
However, the creator has done an amazing job of recreating the RPD Meccha Chameleon, and it is the perfect size that finding chameleons is difficult, but not impossible.
Like a chameleon, it’s easy to track down a hideout on this map, and seeing the RPD in its day, without the hordes of undead lurking in the halls, is great. I hope the creator starts making more of these iconic locations from the franchise.
1
Delfino Plaza
Hot Vacation
One of my favorite games from the GameCube era is Super Mario Sunshine. It felt very different compared to other Super Mario games I had played growing up, and I loved every minute of it.
That’s why I was so happy to see the Delfino Plaza map by Meccha Chameleon. A bright, sunny place, with a shining hotel, is the perfect setting for a game of hide and seek.
Buildings make great hiding places. In addition, there are various nooks and crannies to fit into. The whole map is beautiful, and there are many opportunities for those who will seek it.
