All Disney Worlds in Kingdom Hearts 3, listed

If there’s one thing the Kingdom Hearts series is known for, it’s the dozens of Disney Worlds you visit. That, and probably an endless amount of keyblades on display.
Every entry in the series has multiple Disney worlds to visit, and each of these worlds usually has a problem that you need to help the world’s heroes solve. Needless to say, Kingdom Hearts 3 is the same way, albeit with a few Disney worlds.

Time heals all wounds, including those caused by outdated designs.
In the world that exists however not all are created equal, and some are better than others, but where do they stand in comparison to each other?

100 Acre Woods
Winnie the Pooh
It is sad to see that 100 Acre Woods has declined so much. Sure, it was always an optional world, so it’s not like there had to be a lot of thought put into it, but it sounds like it was the last thing on anyone’s mind when Kingdom Hearts 3 was being made.
In the first game, the world of 100 Acre Woods was tied to the main story as a small task that you needed to do, and the mini games in the world were a lot of fun. This made it a nice break from the usual Heartless filled locations.
However, the minigames in this world in Kingdom Hearts 3 are some of the worst in the series, and the story feels like an afterthought given how short it was. At least the art style was top notch.

Olympus
Hercules
The Hercules worlds have never been my favorite in any of the Kingdom Hearts games, and it shows a lot, but somehow the world of Olympus in Kingdom Hearts 3 is my least favorite.
Most of them are long drawn out worlds, giving you big battles and a reason why Hercules needs your help, whether he feels like he’s not a hero, or that he’s lost his strength, or something else.
The reason you jump into Olympus so much is to read the tutorial, and you get out of there pretty quickly. I give credit, because I enjoyed kicking the butt of all the Titans at once.

Arendelle
It is frozen
If there’s a world people compare to Atlantica in the first game, it’s Arendelle in Kingdom Hearts 3, and you don’t even get to play the minigame to hear the song. This world felt rushed, and as if the story had been changed during production.
The world itself is pretty good, except for the little sliding game, but the story is where everything falls apart. It felt like the world was stopping Elsa from becoming a villain, but then the rug was pulled for the film’s epic story to follow.
It felt like Elsa was going to screw up, and then Hanz showing up as a villain without any real set up, and having to watch a full scene of Elsa singing Let It Go was frustrating because it didn’t come together at all.

The Kingdom of Corona
It’s confusing
I’m not against Square Enix using the same plot from the movie in Kingdom Hearts 3. After all, it has happened in many countries, but usually there are small changes. However, the Corona Kingdom in the world does not have these changes.
You play through the story of Tangled beat-by-beat until the end. However, the world is much better than Arendelle, as it has a beautiful place, and the meeting of the Heartless and Nobodies in such a beautiful world is great.

The Whole World of Kingdom Hearts, Counts
Even worse, these worlds are still better than the Gummi Ship machines.
Additionally, I love the little dance scene that takes place in the kingdom, as it had a charm to it that enhanced the world for me.

San Francisco
A Little Lack
I love the movie Superhero 6. When it came out, I thought it was one of the best Disney 3D animated movies. However, when it comes to Kingdom Hearts 3, the team dropped the ball when designing Sanfransokyo.
The world is fun, and exploring the city has its charms, but it ultimately feels flat and repetitive instead of full of life. No citizens tremble in fear of the Hearts. Instead, it’s almost as if the world is a diorama and the only part that moves.
Aside from the issue I have with the design, it was nice to see the characters again, and the story has a different tone than the film, which makes it stand out more.

Monstropolis
Monsters Inc.
Monsters, Inc is one of my favorite Disney/Pixar movies of all time, needless to say, I was excited to jump into this world for the first time in Kingdom Hearts 3, and I may be a little biased when it comes to this world.
Exploring the factory is fun, and fighting enemies while securing doors with Boo’s laugh was hilarious. The train track sequence was also a great moment, as my entrance through the doors was a blast.
However, the main downside of this world is that it often feels repetitive, with Mike and Sully explaining that we need to laugh to open doors. Country with a strong opener, but loses momentum after a while. I still find it very interesting though.

Toy Box
Andy’s Room is Finally Here
I had been waiting years for Toy Story to finally appear in Kingdom Hearts, and I was not disappointed with the way the world turned out. You start in Andy’s room before going outside and going to a toy store, and throughout, you get an original story that is tied to the Toy Story franchise.
When you get to the toy store, the world starts to get better, as it is much bigger, there are more battles, and you get to drive a mech suit. The action is non-stop, making it one of the most exciting worlds in the game.
I also couldn’t talk about the world of the Toy Box without mentioning Woody dropping one of the most chilling lines in the series by saying, “My guessin is right in Xehanort’s face. The only thing this world really lacked was a simple fight at the end, but the rest of the world more than makes up for that.

The Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean
I was a fan of the original Pirates of the Caribbean world that appeared in Kingdom Hearts 2, so I was really excited to see the franchise make a return in the third game of the main series. It did not disappoint, and ended up being my favorite world in the game.
He meets Jack Sparrow again in the events of At World’s End, and is quickly introduced to the game’s ship battle, and it’s a shame that this didn’t show up in any other part of the game, because the ship battle was one of the best I’ve seen.
Exploring this world was one of the best parts of Kingdom Hearts 3. I spent years visiting all the islands of the Caribbean to collect all the treasures, and I don’t regret it. Everything you go through in this world ends up fighting the Kraken and Davey Jones, and it’s fun.
I can easily play this world because it captures everything I love about the Kingdom Hearts series.
