5 Pokémon Pokopia Multiplayer Games You Must Try With Friends

Pokémon Pokopia has only been out for a few weeks, but the community is already finding new ways to play the game with friends.
In Pokopia’s multiplayer mode, players can invite up to three friends to their world. However, it is only in Palette Town that the player’s friends can help them build new settlements, buildings, and more.
If you want more freedom to build with friends, players can also start a Cloud Island with friends, a group that can continue to play in even if the host is offline.

That Ditto’ is a mon of many talents.
Although you can visit other regions in the game, guest players will not be able to build, meaning players have to come up with new ways to do things together on their islands that don’t require building.
Some of them are quite artistic and often require the modification of entire areas to be set up. But if you’re looking for an excuse to go all out with a new project, or venture into the wonderful world of Pokopia’s online community, this might be your first excuse.
Here are five types of mini games Pokopia players play with friends online that show how important this game is.

The Prop Hunt
Another Right Here…
If players befriend Zorua in the Bleak Beach area, Ditto can now learn the Camouflage skill, allowing it to transform into objects.
For fans unfamiliar with the popular Call of Duty mode, players are divided into two groups: props and hunters. It depends on the props to transform into objects and blend into place without raising suspicion. For hunters, they need to keep a sharp eye and identify exactly who is real or fake.
The Pokopia version of this mod was popularized by TikTok user jojojosiah_, who showed how silly this mod can be with friends, especially with the amount of other Pokémon involved.
How players make Prop Hunt work in Pokopia is that, instead of waiting for a timer, whoever gets to the Poke center in the middle of town without getting caught wins.
While it may lack the chaos that CoD’s Prop Hunt has, it can be a neat way to get your friends to interact with your island, even if they can’t build.

Graveller Race
Super Graveller Ball
Our TikTok doomscrolling glory, as you can be sure this will be a new song.
Graveller Racing (or Graveller Derby) has players using the Graveller’s Rollout ability to roll through a carefully constructed race.
Naturally, this throws the race creators into a frenzy, who are already creating very strong maps to compete with. These can have narrow roads that you can navigate while trying not to fall into the mud, roads with deliberate gaps so you can stay alert, just in case you die, or places where you’ll need to jump at the last second.

You should remix them all!
Reddit user flamin_sheep showed off the exciting power some of these Graveller racers can have, while showing off their impressive drifting abilities if you’d like some inspiration to get you started.
Release is already an underrated skill in my opinion, so it’s good to see players finding new ways to get more use out of it. With how much momentum you can build by rolling continuously, I can only hope it’s only a matter of time before we see some Sonic inspired lessons.

Dragonite Gliding
Can We Go Much Higher?
Dragonite Gliding is one of the most interesting multiplayer modes I’ve seen flying (heh) on social media.
In this mini-game, players will switch to Dragonite’s gliding mode, taking to the skies to compete while flying through cleverly placed circles. Some players even put waterfalls on their courses, which made them switch to Lapras to ride them up to get back into the air.
If you’ve played that eponymous Chocobo mini-game in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, you’ll probably be familiar with this one pretty easily. Thankfully, surfing as a Dragonite is less stressful and dull compared to a Chocobo, so you’re sure to have a better time here.
There aren’t many examples of this yet, given the huge amount of time it would take to create a tutorial for one of these. But I can only imagine how creative players will get in the future with some of these lessons.

Lava Boxing
Two Dittos Enter, One Ditto Leaves.
Leave it to Pokémon fans to figure out how to turn a cute island-building game into a brutal blood game.
This little fan-made game has become one of the most popular out there, which I think says something about us. The rules are very simple: players only need to hold the Rock Smash ability while trying to push their opponent off the ledge into the hot lava pit.
To get started, you’ll first need to build some sort of platform with mud underneath. You can go the easy route and make a simple bridge, or build your own deathmatch platform. The choice is yours!
Instagram user pokiemmie made some fun cinematic videos of her friends fighting in one of these lava arena systems if you want to see what happens.
If you’re looking for another reason to build an awe-inspiring castle amidst the lava-covered terrain of the Rocky Ridges, then building your own gladiator ring will certainly inspire you enough.
1
Jump Rope
Bind Your Friends For Fun
Fans of Final Fantasy 9 may have seen their lives flash before their eyes when Bulbusaur asked to play jump rope with you. Thankfully, Pokopia’s version of the jump rope won’t let you drop your controller across the room in despair.
This is one of the most accessible mini-games that you can start playing with friends, almost from the get-go. Even better, you won’t need to spend a week trying to build anything. To get started, all you have to do is talk to Bulbasaur and ask to play the jump rope. An invitation will then be sent to your party, and if they accept it, they’ll be jumping right in with you.
Fortunately, if a friend is completely broken in the game, the players who are eliminated can choose to speed up or slow down the rope, preventing the captain of the ropes from getting too comfortable.
We’re still in the early stages of Pokémon Pokopia’s multiplayer community, but we’re already seeing great player creativity. While the minigames are a neat cherry on top of the game’s already stellar gameplay loop, they can serve as a neat side job with friends to help break up the long sessions. And if you’re stuck looking for your next project to build, doing a long obstacle course to Get Out sounds like a great way to kill some time.
Here’s hoping that Nintendo keeps an eye on what the community is building here, and will look to add new features to help streamline the building process for larger projects and help players get them into the game.
