And naturally, some ancients are better than others. Although, of course, the strength of the given options will depend on your current cards and relics, some ancients just want you to succeed! Some… well, you might have to pay a little for their help!

From Death, You Are Born Again!

The only real reason Neow is on this list is because he’s an Elder, and he has to be placed somewhere. Naturally, the fossils provided by Neow will not be the most powerful fossils in the world, but that is by design.

Nothing Neow offers is more descriptive, and it won’t completely brick your deck. Gifts are little boosts in the right direction, giving you a small advantage, but nothing more.

Whether you need to cut your starting deck, get a nice rare card, an HP boost or some extra starting money, Neow has what you need. Just don’t expect anything game-breaking! And don’t be too greedy. It’s never a good idea to start with an extra curse!

Tezcatara

OK, now we can start with the Ancients mid-game. Tezcatara is by no means a weak option. In fact, they have several decent options that can keep the desktop in the right conditions.

However, there are many times when you visit this ancient, and none of the rewards match your particular deck. The problem is, most of Texcatara’s buffs don’t have permanent effects throughout your duration. You may have noticed a pattern here. The best Ancients, in general, are the ones with very few drops and they work regardless of what’s in your deck.

Tanx is one of these. While Tanx is a classic that is very effective at boosting aggressive decks, he, oddly enough, actually has a good number of defensive options.

You have big annoying decisions, like Crossbow, Claws, again The Tri-Boomerangthat helps you knock down your opponents faster and more powerfully. But you also have remnants like Spiked Gauntlets, Throwing Axe, again the call, which can literally benefit any deck. The options here are all really simple, offering huge upsides with basically no downsides.
