ARC Update Release Date Siege Raiders

A storm is brewing at ARC Raiders, as Embark Studios has revealed its next major update, Shrouded Sky, will go live on February 24th.

The announcement came earlier today from the official ARC Raiders X account, where a short video was posted, showing a weather vane (featuring Scrappy, the rooster) spinning uncontrollably due to high-speed winds.

Overcast Skies Update Introduces New ARC Threat and Map Mode

On January 23rd, Embark showed off a detailed roadmap for ARC Raiders, with new content updates arriving every month—and the covered sky update seems to be the heartiest of all.

A covered sky review will present:

  • New map state

  • The new ARC threat

  • Player project

  • The Raider Deck

  • Map Update

  • Expedition Window

Although the details of the upcoming update remain hidden, we can safely say that the new map environment will include bad weather such as high winds, heavy rain, and lightning, but how it will affect the Raiders, ARCs, and terrain is unknown.

With a storm headed our way, a new ARC threat is entering the fold, and we don’t know what it will be. The last new ARC enemy to be added to the game was the Shredder, who made his shocking debut on the Stella Montis map.

A brand new player project and a new raider deck are also on the way, giving players new jobs and the chance to trade their hard-earned points for things like cosmetics, valuables, and tools.

This new content comes at the perfect time, as the second adventure window is set to open on February 25, and Raiders will be scrambling to fill their stash with high-value items to earn extra skill points and rewards for their next Raider.

Along with the announcement covered in the sky, Embark Studios also addressed the matter of the replication of the object earlier today. Players just found out how to replicate things like bombs or rubber ducks that matter, and Embark said, “We’re going to take actions based on difficulty, intent, frequency, and impact.”

Embark says that players who have abused the replay exploit can experience:

  • Warnings for low severity cases where abuse was limited

  • Removal of Coins tied to exploit activity

  • Suspension of critical situations, especially when the use of exploits has had a significant impact on the game’s economy or the experience of other players.

While the exploits were the result of design flaws, Embark says, “The way they were used had a real impact on the game’s economy and how the community experienced ARC Raiders. It’s up to us to address that and work to restore balance.”
