Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Claws for Awaji Switch 2 Release date is coming

Ubisoft Quebec’s Assassin’s Creed Shadowsthe latter Assassin’s Creed game, is about to celebrate one year and with it, the developer may have exciting plans to celebrate the milestone next month, especially for new Nintendo Switch 2 players.

According to Ubisoft’s latest investor call, Shadows‘ the first and currently only major expansion, Claws of Awaji, will make its long-awaited debut on the Nintendo Switch 2 in March, but no specific release date has been revealed, although the launch on Friday, March 20, would make sense since that is the one year anniversary of the game.

In the middle Shadows‘ Fall Roadmap Update in October, Quebec first announced that Shadows will be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in December but noted that Claws of Awaji will be coming to the mobile console later in the new year.

Now, Switch 2 players will only have to wait about a month to finally witness Naoe and Yasuke’s final journey on the Templar-infested island of Awaji.

Explains Awaji’s Nails

Like many previous AC DLCs, Claws of Awaji takes place in the background Shadows‘ is the end of the base game, following Assassin Hattori Hanzo’s search for Naoe’s mother and Assassin Mentor Fujibayashi Tsuyu.

Naoe follows a trail to the nearby island of Awaji off the coast of Izumi Settsu to find its people ruled by the oppressive Templar-aligned Sanzoku Ippa led by Kimura Yukari, daughter of Templar daimyo Kimura Kei.

With the help of Hanzo and Yasuke, Naoe will fight to free Awaji from his Templar oppressors, defeat Yukari’s lieutenants, Yasuhira, Nowaki, and Imagawa Tomeji, and find Tsuyu.

Besides completing Awaji’s main story, there are many new side missions and tasks to complete in the DLC, such as finding and mastering Naoe’s new weapon, the bo staff, and finding the entire landscape painting area Sumi-e.

Ubisoft Quebec has not officially announced the release of Claws of Awaji on Nintendo Switch 2 yet, but they may announce it soon during the alleged Second Year Road update similar to what the developer presented at the beginning of 2025 after that. Shadows‘first presentation.
