What is Off the Grid?

Off The Grid is a free-to-play cyberpunk battle royale shooter developed by Gunzilla Games. Set on a futuristic Teardrop Island, the game combines traditional last-person combat with story-driven missions translated into its world.

Off The Grid combines PvP and PvE gameplay, with up to 150 players competing in each match while completing narrative objectives that slowly reveal the island’s history.

Its standout feature, the cybernetic limb system, allows players to swap limbs for advanced prosthetics, improved combat and mobility for smarter, more strategic battles.

The game runs on the GUNZ, Avalanche-based Layer 1 network, which allows players to extract Hexes, weapon blueprints, cosmetics, and cyberlimbs, and assemble them as NFTs.

Blockchain and the Rise of Competition

Along with its Steam Early Access launch, Gunzilla Games continues to expand both the competitive and blockchain sides of Off The Grid.

In June 2025, more than 21,000 players migrated in-game testnet assets to the mainnet, with 10,000 validator nodes activated and 413,000 HEX decoding generating around $13m (~£9.6m) in trading volume.

While Steam does not include NFTs and $GUN features, Gunzilla maintains access outside of the platform to create, trade tokens, and participate in verification.
