Someone Is Impersonating Me On Twitch, Don’t Fall For It – WGB

Hello everyone,

I haven’t stopped writing a personal message in a while, but a good Samaritan from Twitch named SaucySnark brought this up to me and I wanted to do what I could to make sure everyone knew about it.

Another muppet on Twitch who goes by the name wolfsgaminghubb uses my website logo, and seems to be running some kind of scam based on my impersonation. Joined SaucySnark’sawesome Helldivers 2 stream and said: “I run a large gaming critique forum with a large Twitch audience. We’re choosing one helldivers streamer for a 14-day personality-focused embedded growth study. He fits the profile.”

Obviously, that’s not me. I didn’t have a Twitch account before the one I just made to report this ridiculous blast, and I don’t go through growth studies without learning how much my belly grows when I invade an all-you-can-eat buffet.

“I’ll put it all over my blog for 14 days with curated articles, embedded streams, homepage placement, and direct calls to action to our Twitch audience. We’re tracking fan and viewer growth before and after,” the cheater said.

SaucySnark pointed me to a video of his stream where you can see the douchebag appear in the conversation around 17:50. You can see it here:

SaucySnark told me that a fake wants to chat on Discord using the username ronie100, which is my last name. Subtract 100, obviously. Although now I wish that was my real name. Hmm. The scammer said they would “post a link to my blogs”, so I think the intent was to direct SaucySnark here to prove their identity. Of course, SaucySnark is the most famous person in the world and didn’t fall for such a daft scheme.

A classic scam, indeed. Choose a small website that has enough traffic and presence to refer people to them but is not too well known so that no one notices the impersonation going on. I was lucky that the wonderful SaucySnark saw something and took the time to message me. Please, if you have a Twitch account, go check out SaucySnark on Twitch:

As for the cheater, I created a Twitch account to properly report them, and hopefully I’ll hear from Twitch soon and can start working to get them banned. However, I don’t have high hopes yet as my previous experience with castings was not very good. I have done this entire website many times in the past.

Thanks for taking the time to read this everyone. Please keep your eyes open for all scammers. They are very easy to get into sometimes, even for the most cautious of us.

If you wish to help, report yourself on Twitch: Go to twitch.tv/wolfsgaminghubb, three dots > Report > User > Search > Impersonate You. Name VOD: twitch.tv/videos/2706488470 (17:50-31:30).

For future reference: I do not have an official Twitch channel, or a public Discord username for this website. The only social media I keep is on Twitter and BlueSky, both of which I never use. If you see me somewhere else, it’s probably not me. But if in doubt, feel free to contact me here through the website.
