10 Plot Threads JackSepticEyes’ Bloodborne Movie Must Check Out

Bloodborne is a very different Soulsborne game released by FromSoftware, and now JackSepticEye is working with Sony through his production company to turn the game into an R-rated animated film. JackSepticEye is not the first YouTuber to turn their favorite game into a movie, as Markiplier has also started this project recently, releasing his own movie, Iron Lung, in early 2026.
Ten Years Later, Bloodborne’s Grim And Twisted Yharnam Feels Right At Home
Bloodborne is ten years old, and plenty of veteran players are still returning to Yharnam.
I feel confident that JackSepticEye, who plays and appreciates video games and how they can be an art form, will be able to do justice to the complex world of Bloodborne and its disturbing story. With so many plot threads available to explore in his film, some stand out as such more important or interesting than others in the world of Bloodborne. Here’s what would be interesting to see explored.
10
Laurence
The Beginning of Yharnam’s Blood Crisis
Laurence was the first Vicar, and he was inspired by the discovery of old blood, he believed of divine nature and can be used to transcend humanity. Willem tried to warn Laurence that the old blood was dangerous, and Laurence ignored him, choosing to go to Yharnam with a bunch of other scholars to spread the healing of the old blood.
Because Laurence founded the Healing Church and played an important role in setting off the events you see in the game, it feels like it needs to be included in the movie. His role in setting in motion the events that led to the fall of Yharnam is too important to be overlooked.

Fishing Hamlet
The Origin of Hunter Curses
In many ways, Fishing Hamlet was an important event in the history of the Hunters. The inhabitants who lived in this area were replaced after Kos washed ashore. Kos, at that time, was already dead, but she was carrying a fetus and many parasites that may have been caused by changes in the population, and may have been used by them as a source of food.
The change in the residents led to scientists and Hunters coming to investigate. Although they could help the people of this area, they chose to do so Scatter Kos and the villagers for informationthen steal the embryo, which will be the orphan of the Kos boss you are dealing with. This is believed to be the source of the curse placed on the Hunters.

Ludwig
The Essential Hero Turned into a Monster
Ludwig was associated with the Healing Church as a Hunter, but took his work to another level and spent his time training others to become Hunters against animals. Because he taught those who were willing to fight, he ended up uniting the people against one enemy.
Like many others, Ludwig would eventually give in to his bloodlust and become a monster that kills Hunters and other animals indiscriminately. However, Ludwig’s descent is particularly interesting, because he had it a blade that seemed to be sentient and allowed him to communicate with the universeand that seemed to play a role in his fate.

German
The First Hunter Should Be In The Movie
Gehrman was one of the first people to witness the outbreak of the beast’s scourge, and he responded by becoming the first Hunter. In addition to being a military hero, Gehrman proved to be a teacher and composer, as he taught. he taught others to hunt animals and worked on making tools to help them.
In every game, Gehrman gives you access to his workshop and tools to help you get strongerallows you to face terrifying creatures. Considering his role as the actor’s mentor, it feels necessary to have him in the film, even if he’s a background character.
6
A Hunter’s Dream
Gehrman’s Assurance That There Will Always Be Hunters
Gehrman was aware of the fact that he would not be able to hunt animals and train Hunters himself. He is not immortal. However, he found a way to defy death through the creation of the Hunter’s dream. Although modeled after his original workshop, the dream location is not real.
The Hunter’s Dream is basically your safe haven for the rest of Bloodborne, but it also allows you to upgrade your character and gear. Because of it the importance of both gameplay and loreit should be a necessary part of the film, assuming the film will be set after its creation.
5
Eileen
A Hunter Who Hunts Hunters
Eileen has a unique role in the world of Bloodborne. Nature of being a Hunter causes many Hunters to go insane due to their use of bloodand a deranged Hunter is more dangerous to everyone around him than a protector made for people who cannot or will not fight the scourge of the beast.
Eileen is a hunter who kills crazy Hunterswhich minimizes the damage they can do to the innocent. While his role in the world would be easy to skip in the film, it’s an interesting episode of how hunting works and its dangers, making it an important series to explore.
4
Rom
The Last Barrier Defense
When you defeat Rom in Bloodborne, the in-game world changes in significant ways. You gain the ability to see the truth of the world around you that was previously hidden, such as the Red Moon and the existence of the Lesser Amygdala.
Whether it was an act of kindness or necessity, Rom controlled the barrier that protected people from seeing the reality of the horrors around themand killing Rom breaks that barrier. Because killing Rom marks a change in the game, it feels like it could be an important aspect to explore in the film, especially if it plays into the deterrence objective in the first place.
3
Healing Church
Center for Multiple Problems
The Healing Church founded by Laurence became an organization that does Blood Ministry using old blood to heal people. Unfortunately, the blood was addictivetherefore those who were healed by Blood Ministration would end up soaked in old blood.

10 Best Games Like Bloodborne
Don’t worry about defending yourself, because if you don’t take the initiative, your enemy will.
Although it took part in the beginning of the scourge of the beast, the Healing Church would become an organization that produced many Hunters who would fight against this scourge, although this church would not officially associate with the Hunters. The Healing Church plays such an important role in the use of old blood that it would be strange not to include it in the film.
2
Queen Yharnam
His Story Could Be Its Own Movie
Yharnam is a Pthumerian Queen who became pregnant when the Old Ones descended, with a child, Mergo. He is important enough to the world of Bloodborne that the city of Yharnam was named after him. However, his life changed in a terrible way when the Noses came down, and he was finally “blessed” to give birth to a new Grandfather.
Yharnam’s outfit does a lot of work to tell his story. When you meet him, his hands are tied and there is blood staining the front of his dress. It is possible that the Great One’s pregnancy puts Yharnam in a position of captivity to ensure that Mergo will be born, and is then given to Mergo’s Wet Nurse as. Yharnam’s role was about to end, and he would no longer be needed.

Miss Maria
Maria Spends Her Death Watching over Hamlet
Lady Maria was one of the first Hunters and trained under Gehrman. However, he was also a member of the team investigating Fishing Hamlet. When details were revealed about what happened there, Maria was tortured enough by her role that she committed suicide and was going to do it they insisted that the dead should be left alone when you face him in the Astral Clocktower.
Lady Maria is an interesting character, and wanted relying on ability more than the ability of his blood as someone from Cainhurst. He’s a character that could have an entire movie devoted to his story, and I certainly wouldn’t complain about seeing that. However, if the film looks at the early days of the Hunters rather than the time you get as an actor, then Maria will be an important character to include.
There is so much packed into every Soulsborne game that each could be made into a full TV series. While we’ll have to settle for a film adaptation for now, it’s a comfort that someone who plays the games is the head of the production company creating the Bloodborne movie, because there’s a good chance they’ll be faithful to the original work.
