How to Get the Basilosaurus Marinca Card in Dave the Diver Into the Jungle

Dave the Diver may seem like a simple game about diving and fishing, but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Not only is it full of charm and adventure, it also includes an incredible amount of side content that you can use while still keeping those two key elements as the core of the experience. That’s especially true of its Into the Jungle DLC expansion, which has expanded what Dave can do to the nth degree.

Yes, they cook with it.

One of the most exciting side content for collectors is Marinca, and thankfully, she returns in DLC as Marinca Bloom. Among the many new cards he has to unlock in the jungle, one of the rarest is Basilosaurus himself. How you unlock it is a little different from the other rare animals you encounter, so here’s how to add a Basilosaurus Marinca Bloom card to your collection in Dave the Diver.

The following guide contains spoilers for the second part of the Dave the Diver’s Into the Jungle DLC main story, so please read ahead at your own discretion.

How to Unlock Marinca Bloom in Dave the Diver Into the Jungle

Marinca is one of the many features you can unlock at the start of the Dave the Diver base game, and it serves as a fun, card collector-style mini-game that you can complete by catching new species of underwater wildlife, just like you do on any other day. Every time you capture and unlock a new creature, it will simultaneously unlock in Marinca as a new card in your collection.

As it happens, this mini-game returns to the Into the Jungle DLC game as Marinca Bloom, in the spirit of your new tropical adventure. Similar to other new and familiar NPCs appearing, Sato will appear in Uttara Village at some point during your progress through the main DLC storyline. You will be introduced to Marinca Bloom, and it will automatically be available for use on your phone.

The mini-game works pretty much the same way, in terms of basics. There are a total of 87 fish and other creatures found in the three parts of Uttara Lake (Utara Lake Upper, Uttara Lake Lower, and Lakebed Sea). However, this time, there is one additional key feature to track.

You’ll also need to watch out and grow the Marinca Bloom flower on the left, which you can do by donating the range points you earn from walking and swimming. Walking provides sunlight while swimming provides water to your Marinca flower, and your goal is to help it bloom to its fullest. Doing so will reward you with the decoration of your hot spot in Uttara valley.

How to Get the Basilosaurus Marinca Card in Dave the Diver Into the Jungle

The Basilosaurus Marinca Bloom Card is one of the few rare cards in the Marinca Bloom collection. In total, it includes the Sulong, the Snapping Turtle (obtained through the Sato side quest), the Stethacanthus, the Xiphactinus, and finally the Basilosaurus.

Given that Basilosaurus is a large, aggressive prehistoric creature that you encounter as part of the main story, you may be wondering how this can be unlocked as a card. After all, they’re too big to handle, and ultimately they can’t be defeated by traditional means (compared to the other bosses you face). In Chapter 7, Muna confronts the monster with Mini-Bombs that are actually made by her own hands, but as usual, things don’t go according to plan.

In the end, Basilosaurus is left for dead at the bottom of the lake while Dave is bravely rescued by Cobra and the gang. However, completing this storyline does not unlock your card. You’ll actually need to return to its corpse at the bottom of the lake later.

When you get to The Epiloguereturn to the dock and turn on your diving equipment. Take a dip in the pool, too swim all the way to the Sea Under the Poolwhere you once met a Basilosaurus when it got stuck in a pipe. Since it’s dead, it’s now safe to return rewards to it, so approach and record it as you would any other creature.

You’ll get Basilosaurus information as a new entry, and retrieving its meat will unlock a new recipe (Basilosaurus Hot Pot) that you’ll learn at Bancho’s Grill. The holographic card will then open in your Marinca Bloom app, and you can view its contents from the app’s menu.
