The return of the Sevastopol Monster

It’s been more than a decade since Creative Assembly launched the first-person survival horror game Alien: Isolation in 2014, with Amanda Ripley’s harrowing journey aboard the Xenomorph-Sevastopol Station that horrified thousands of gamers and Alien fans around the world.

While Isolation has received several follow-ups in the form of a mobile game Alien: Blackout and the Dark Horse Comics series that follows the story of Amanda Ripley beyond the horror channel, players have cried out for a sequel to a deeply respected horror game, only those wishes seem to fall on deaf ears.

Valve’s Steam Machine is the second Price of the Maintenance of the Week After GTA 6

Between the leaked price of GTA 6 and the Steam Machine’s $ 1,049 reveal, this week one thing is clear: playing costs everywhere at once.

This was until 2024, when Creative Assembly and Sega officially announced the development of the truth Alien: Isolation sequel, with a teaser for the game later shown in conjunction with Alien Day 2026 and the game later officially revealed as Alien: Isolation 2 at Summer Games Fest 2026.

Alien: Isolation 2 may be months or even years away from launch, but Creative Assembly showed off a pre-alpha demo of the game at Summer Games Fest, showing glimpses of the buzzing new horrors that await fans and Weyland-Yutani’s new character, Blake.

Minimizing the Xenomorph

When Alien: Isolation 2 was teased on Alien Day 2026, fans quickly realized that CA would go all out in expanding the horror Isolation series by having the game set in the real, stormy world instead of being limited to the claustrophobic confines of a space station.

This is on full display in the demo, where it opens with Blake traversing the dark, muddy, forested terrain of the colony LV-921, and enabling Blake to crouch over hills and zoom in on distant sites, as members of his survey team climb up to the crash site.

Being trapped on a space station with a Xenomorph is scary enough, but the prospect of being hunted by a human in the dark forest with nothing to hide in or use to defend yourself is a much more terrifying and exciting prospect.

However, the demo doesn’t have Blake exploring the wilderness of LV-921 for long, as he and his team quickly find the crashed Gemini Exoplanet Solutions Hazardous Lab that was taken out of the Sevastopol station by Ripley and Marshall Waits in the first game.

Most of the demo focuses on Blake and his team entering and exploring the lab, setting the demo in a familiar enclosure, though it has been badly damaged since the last time players entered the lab in 2014.

Here, several new and familiar gameplay mechanics are also shown, such as Blake using a classic flare to light up the area, using a battery-powered flashlight, climbing ladders, collecting scraps, and being able to repair a panel using dirty parts without doing anything beforehand.

As soon as the lab has the power to be restored after the panel is fixed, the demo quickly becomes a fun but scary and scary journey back to the corridors and rooms of Sevastopol, some corridors explode in a fiery way, blocking the paths like the main channel did in the first game.

It was great to see Sevastopol’s iconic and inspiring Registration Points again in the lab, acting as save points Alien: Isolation 2.

Here, Blake can use the lab’s hatches and repair tunnels to cross the lab, one very scary scene is seen near one of the tunnels with the Working Joe Synth grabbing Blake by his legs before he goes down due to cuts during the accident.

Of course, this would not be a Alien game without the titular Xenomorph, and, after reaching one of the lab’s ports, old Stompy himself is seen once again haunting the players as he starts wandering around looking for any member of Blake’s team after the lab is resurrected.

Like the first game, the Alien will always ignore areas or jump down from openings, forcing players to hide in cabinets or under desks to avoid detection, but the Alien can still track players and learn from their movements, and the Xenomorph can still attack players from inside gaps.

The demo ends there, but even though it’s short and doesn’t include a motion tracker, it proves more than that that CA is still able to produce an amazing horror experience after ten years of only good development. Total War articles and Halo Wars 2.

Alien Isolation Teaser Trailer out

Despite being in pre-alpha form, Alien: Isolation 2 it already looks and sounds incredible, with its environments far more detailed and immersive than its predecessor, which was already one of the most immersive horror games out there.

If this demo is anything to go by what the folks at Creative Assembly have in store for you Alien: Isolation 2horror gamers will play another outstanding survival title that may exceed the rewards of the first game.
