Sony Makes a Strong Case for Buying GTA 6 on PS5

Sony released a blog post explaining why the PlayStation 5 is the best system to play Grand Theft Auto 6, due to the hardware that Microsoft’s Xbox Series X/S lacks.

Rockstar made the very confusing decision to only launch Grand Theft Auto 6 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. While it makes sense that the game won’t be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2, it’s shocking that it’s not coming to PC at launch, and it doesn’t have a download window. This leaves PC gamers with the option of buying one of the more expensive consoles, or waiting.

Grand Theft Auto V Upgraded Finally Lives On PC Thanks To Its Best Mod

Time to Release!

Pre-order details for Grand Theft Auto 6 have been officially revealed by Rockstar and Take-Two, along with plenty of information about the game’s DLC. Sony is jumping on the bandwagon with a PlayStation Blog post explaining why fans should buy Grand Theft Auto 6 on PlayStation 5, and including a compelling argument for leaving the Xbox Series X/S behind.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Is Better on PS5 Thanks to DualSense

The root of the argument for Grand Theft Auto 6 being better on the PlayStation 5 is the DualSense controller, which greatly improves the gaming experience with its tactile feedback.

When the X controller’s haptic feedback touches the player’s hands, it changes to match the area it’s touching. At the same time, flexible triggers lock into place, so pulling the shoulder button actually feels like pulling the trigger.

The main argument for Grand Theft Auto 6 to be better on PlayStation 5 is due to the DualSense controller, which greatly improves the experience of playing the game, due to the tactile feedback it gives players.

Rockstar had used DualSense capabilities to great effect, thanks to the PlayStation 5 port of Grand Theft Auto 5. In that game, the vibration would change to match the road the player was driving on, giving a hard feeling whenever the tires hit the dirt road, and greatly improving the experience, especially when driving long distances.

DualSense also has a built-in speaker, which is often used for phone calls or video messages that the player regularly receives in the Grand Theft Auto series. This also adds a lot to the immersion, without distracting the player from the action happening on the screen.

Rockstar talked about the partnership with Sony in a PlayStation Blog post, but was surprisingly quiet about the PlayStation 5 Pro. If any game can outsell Sony’s incredibly expensive upgraded system, it’s the upgraded version of Grand Theft Auto 6, with much better graphics. Maybe Rockstar is waiting for the next gameplay trailer to really show the visuals of the game?

Now that Rockstar and Take-Two have revealed the price of Grand Theft Auto 6, the promotional train is about to begin. The fact that the pre-load date is also scheduled for November 12th means that the game should be ready, without the delay pushing it to 2027. This means that the flood of information about Grand Theft Auto 6 is about to begin, hopefully including details about the PlayStation 5 Pro version.

While the DualSense features may not look like much to outside observers, they have truly improved Grand Theft Auto 5, which was already an incredible game. Few titles have done well with DualSense capabilities, such as Grand Theft Auto 5, despite its age, and Grand Theft Auto 6 will likely do the same, making the PlayStation 5 version a straightforward program.
