The solution to the Moon Puzzle Box in Resident Evil Requiem

When you enter the main core of the gameplay in Resident Evil Requiem, you play as Grace at the Rhodes Hill Care Center. However, the facility is closed, and the only way out is through the front door with missing idents.

As you explore further, you will see that the door needs something related to the sun, moon, and stars. In true Resident Evil fashion, you must collect items to solve a large puzzle to progress.

Meet the Citizen Evil Actors

Capcom recently revealed the voices behind Resident Evil Requiem’s Grace Ashcroft and Leon Kennedy.

You will soon learn that you need three quartzes of those heavenly bodies to open the door and escape from Rhodes Hill. However, those quartzes are firmly locked behind puzzle boxes, and it’s up to you to unlock and unlock them.

Thankfully, there are a few ways you can find out Moon quartz.

The Moon Puzzle Box, which hides the Moon Quartz, can be found in the Chairman’s Office. You are not alone in this office, so be prepared for that – and be prepared that you don’t have to stay in the dark all the time. There is a light switch, but actually the Chairman doesn’t care much if the light is on, unlike the other zombies.

Even better, there are several different methods you can use to open this box, some of which don’t even require you to take a single step away.

How to Open a Box

Time to Admit Resident Evil 6 Is Good, Actually

“The worst Resident Evil game” isn’t that bad in the first place.

The Pencil Method

The Pencil method of opening the Moon Puzzle Box is clearly the main, obvious way the developers intended for players to find the puzzle. While in the Chairman’s Office, go forward into the office itself, and you will see a pencil sitting on the Chairman’s desk.

If you remember when you first walked into the main office space, someone tore a page out of the Torn Journal. However, we can see what was written on the above page, as long as we take a pencil and rub it on the paper.

Doing so will bring up the code for the puzzle box: Moon, Sun, Star, Moon.

This will also give you the Chairman’s Note, which is one of the files you need to collect.

Image Method

RE Needs Photo of Lead Researcher 3

In case you decide to just skip this room for now, there is another way to open the puzzle box, and it’s in the Lead Researcher’s Office. When you go to the desk, you will see a bunch of pictures that you can interact with. What is important to us here is the one in the decorated frame.

Take the picture frame, zoom in and look at it, and you’ll see that it has a Moon Puzzle Box with a completed code on the back. With that, you can just run back down and copy what you see in the picture.

Leaflet Method

This is probably the wrong way to get the code, but it’s how I solved it the first time I played the game, so it should count for something. If you remember in the Save room earlier, there is a Care Center Leaflet that talks about the three main board members – referring to each of them as the sun, moon, and star.

It actually puts them in the order of Moon, Sun, Star — which are the first three keys of the code. Also, given that it’s a Moon Puzzle Box, it’s only a reasonable guess to choose the Moon as the last button, too.

With this, you can scratch your brain in a fun way to solve a simple puzzle, but you are also close to escaping with your life.
