Bitcoin Open Heads to Iconic Glen Abbey Golf Club June 8, 2026 Event

The Bitcoin Open, a joint golf and poker tournament organized by Bitcoin Sports Network and Satstreet, is scheduled for June 8, 2026, at Glen Abbey Golf Club in Oakville, Ontario. This event will be held at this club when it completes its 50th anniversary.

Glen Abbey Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1976, is one of Canada’s most popular golf courses. It has hosted the Canadian Open numerous times and is known for its championship-level structure and history of professional golf. The course is located approximately 30 minutes west of Toronto and serves as a public golf course with an important Canadian sporting heritage.

The Bitcoin Open consists of a scramble-format golf tournament in the main Championship during the day, followed by a Texas Hold’em poker tournament in the evening. The golf section uses a team format, usually with teams of four players. The size of the field is limited, as organizers see strong demand and a reduced number of team places remaining from mid-May 2026.

Event prizes include two separate hole-in-one prizes, each containing one Bitcoin. Additional golf rewards include a longer drive and closer to the pin. Golf winners will also receive tickets to the 2027 Bitcoin Golf Championship, scheduled to be held in Nashville, Tennessee, prior to the 2027 Bitcoin Summit. The winner of the poker tournament receives $5,000 CAD in stablecoins.

The list of sponsors for the event has been announced. These include APX Lending, Tetra Digital Group, Canadian Bitcoin Conference, Satstreet, True North Airways, Ledn, Gator Mining Inc., Wealthsimple, CAD DIGITAL, PRIVATEDEBT Partners, McCarthy Tetrault, and Samara Asset Group.

The Bitcoin Sports Network serves as an organizer of Bitcoin-themed sports and lifestyle events, including golf tournaments held in conjunction with major Bitcoin conferences. Satstreet, a Canadian company specializing in Bitcoin, is co-hosting the event and serving as one of the hole sponsors. The two organizations are collaborating on the Canadian Bitcoin Open program.

The event is open to participants from the Bitcoin community, including developers, investors, and others active in the industry. Registration is handled through the event’s official website, with tickets that include both golf and poker components. The schedule includes course activities, meals, and social times in the area.

This marks the first time The Bitcoin Open has been held at Glen Abbey. Past Bitcoin Sports Network golf events have taken place in places like Las Vegas, often timed around major Bitcoin conferences. The Canadian event is positioned as an independent convention in the Toronto area.

Glen Abbey’s 50th anniversary provides more context for the time. Since its opening, the club has been a central part of Canadian golf, training professionals and hosting junior and professional tournaments.
