EA Sports FC Predicts World Cup Champion For Fifth Consecutive Time

When it comes to major sporting events around the world, nothing carries the emotion and cultural weight like FIFA World Cup. All month long, the whole world watches the best countries compete on the field, and we get to see amazing turnarounds and historic achievements that stay with football fans for a lifetime! And this past Sunday finally delivered another unforgettable chapter in the history books, culminating in a title-winning final. Spain as champions of the new world.

It was a thrilling performance of a game that kept the fans on the edge of their seats for over 100 minutes. In the end, it took just one minute of the second half of extra time for Ferran Torres to break through the field, put the ball in the back of the net, and give Spain a 1-0 win.

While Spain’s fans are understandably celebrating in the streets right now, there is another special group of people who are likely to shout victory: engineers Electronic Arts. Because against all statistical odds, their prediction once again struck gold with the EA Sports FC franchise.

An Incredibly Accurate Five Time Frame

EA Sports FC Predicts World Cup Champion For Fifth Consecutive Time 2

At the beginning of last month, when everyone started betting on who could be the champion of the 2026 World Cup, EA again decided to join in the fun.

And in posts on all social media, the company identified Spain as the big winner, while also reminding everyone that they have successfully dialed their predictions for the last four World Cups. And wouldn’t you know it, they actually got it right now too!

They previously predicted Spain in 2010, Germany in 2014, France in 2018, and Argentina in 2022. Now, by predicting Spain’s glorious run to win the trophy, Electronic Arts has successfully crowned the winner of the World Cup for the fifth time in a row, and they can officially add the 2026 tournament to their flawless resume!

They did this by using their in-game database and player statistics in EA Sports FC to simulate the entire tournament from the group stages to the final. In that way, by combining the visible numbers of high-level players such as Rodri, Cucurella, Pau Cubarsí, Pedri, Oyarzabal, and, of course, Lamine Yamal, the team managed by the head coach Luis de la Fuente was chosen as the game as the great favorite to win the whole.

They previously predicted Spain in 2010, Germany in 2014, France in 2018, and Argentina in 2022. Now, by predicting Spain’s run to the trophy, Electronic Arts has successfully helmed the World Cup for the fifth time in a row.

To be honest, simulating an unpredictable tournament like the World Cup, where one referee’s bad call, red card, or injury can ruin the dreams of an entire nation, and fixing it five times in a row borders on the supernatural! We’re talking about a video game that analyzes physical attributes like passing accuracy, running speed, passing accuracy, and defensive awareness, and somehow translates that into a completely accurate real-world prediction.

I have to admit, I have absolutely no idea how EA managed to turn EA Sports FC into a real crystal ball, but this is really amazing! Now I know that in 2030, I will put my money on whoever they say is the winner – and since I am from Brazil, I will strongly encourage them to predict that Brazil will take the title next time.
