Silent Hill Meets Atomfall In A New Horror Title

It seems like Konami fans are well served during Sony’s tenure Play mode this Thursday! That’s because, after the shocking announcement of a new Castlevania, the event also brought major updates to the Silent Hill franchise.

And another highlight was the brand new and terrifying trailer Silent Hill: Townfallthis year’s entry in the psychological horror series.

The Fall of New Town for the Silent Hill Franchise

According to a new trailer and information, Silent Hill: Townfall is a standalone, full-length horror experience developed by Screen burn-in and co-published by Annapurna Interactive (yes, the iconic indie publisher) and Konami.

From the traditional American fog, this entry is set in the cold, remote Scottish island of St. Following its mysterious 2022 theater, this full trailer finally gives us a full, detailed look at space and the new nightmare that awaits!

Here, you can check out the trailer for yourself:

In this chapter, players take on the role of Simon Ordell, a man called back to St. Amelia to “fix things,” according to its synopsis. He arrives to find a quiet town engulfed in thick fog (sound familiar?), seemingly abandoned, but far from peaceful—and it looks like Simon’s going to find that out the hard way.

The most interesting detail is that he has to follow the voice recorded by a handheld analog TV that he finds along the way, guiding him through the city. Nice, unique twist on the story that adds a new layer of “analog horror” to the franchise.

Silent Hill: Townfall is a standalone, full-length experience developed by Screen Burn.

It also has more Silent Hill 2 vibes, as the protagonist will reveal pieces of the past that refuse to stay buried on the way, alongside the idea of having a limited collection of weapons and tools, solving complex puzzles, facing strange enemies, and dealing with a lot of mysteries.

The details that just stood out to me is the first-person perspective, which seems to make the experience more immersive and a little claustrophobic from its trailer, which is a perfect fit for the Silent Hill franchise.

Unfortunately, Silent Hill: Townfall doesn’t have a release date yet, but hey, we have a great first trailer, which hints at a new chapter that maintains the franchise’s themes of tragedy and loss while introducing a new setting. So yes, I think the wait will be worth it! Now, let me replay the trailer a third time, excuse me.
