Hero My Academia Celebrates Ten Years of Adding Bonito Flakes to Your Fry

Trill Burgers, a craft burger restaurant in Houston that has become one of the most interesting places to play anime in the US, is celebrating the 10th anniversary of My Hero Academia with a limited menu from July 11 to August 9. Three special menu items and a co-branded t-shirt are available at all three Trill Burgers locations in Montrose, Spring, and Missouri City.

This is the kind of partnership that lives or dies in menu design, and based on what’s been announced, Trill Burgers has put some real thought into it.

The Menu Is Here, And It Makes Me Want To Move

The centerpiece is The One For All Burger Combo, which takes a hamburger steak patty, covers it with demi-glazed beef, American cheese, cabbage, and onions, and finishes it with a sesame-citrus dressing. Comes with Trill Burgers’ seasoned fries. Naming is spot on in the best way – One For All is Deku’s legacy, the power of collecting passed down through the generations, and the demi-glazed beef gravy burger feels rightly loaded as a tribute to that.

The Plus Ultra Fries are a signature dish and arguably the most delicious order. Trill Burgers’ house fries are topped with okonomi sauce, mayonnaise, Japanese furikake seasoning, and bonito flakes. Okonomi sauce and furikake on fries is a combination that should already be everywhere and not, and the decision to lean on the Japanese food tradition in collaboration to celebrate the anniversary of Japanese anime is the right call. These are the fridges that I really admire.

Detroit Smash Lemonade revolves around the trio – a neon green drink made with lemon, pineapple chunks, mango chunks, and a kiwi syrup base. All Might’s signature tropical lemonade move is a fun rendition, and the color alone will make it more iconic.

Trill Burgers put some real thought into it.

A white t-shirt with an integrated unisex logo is available in sizes small to 2XL in all three locations. The front bears the MHA logo alongside the Trill Burgers logo, with Izuku Midoriya in the background. It’s a solid design for what it is – clean, straightforward, the kind of thing fans will wear rather than just buy to own. Dual branding makes it feel like a regular licensed shirt, and Deku is the perfect choice for a 10th anniversary event.

Why Trill Burgers Is The Right Partner For This

If this is your first encounter with Trill Burgers doing an anime collaboration, it won’t be your last. The restaurant released the Spy x Family pairing in December 2025 which clearly confirmed them as a serious player in this space rather than just a novelty. The fact that they followed up with My Hero Academia’s 10th anniversary, rather than a new or modern outfit, suggests that they chose their partners on purpose rather than chasing anything that seems too current.

My Hero Academia has a long history of interesting crossovers. The collaboration of Overwatch 2 in October 2024 was one of the most memorable crossovers of the anime game in recent years, giving players the legendary skins of Tracer as Deku, Reinhardt as All Might, Juno as Uraraka, Reaper as Shigaraki, and Kiriko as Toga – a series that considered how it relates heroes and characters.

MHA’s Bucketsquad basketball collection – $85 per ball in all four designs including Class 1-A, Explosion, One For All, and Half-Cold Half-Hot – is another example of franchise licensing in spaces that anime series wouldn’t bother with. MHA always ends up with a partnership that feels thoughtful rather than just bringing money in nearby.

The ten-year anniversary frame gives this collaboration more weight than a typical seasonal menu drop. MHA starting in 2016 and reaching double digits is one of those markers that make you understand how long the series has been part of the cultural furniture, and the food collaboration that relies on both Japanese and American culinary traditions – sesame-citrus dressing and okonomi sauce alongside twisted fries and beef gravy – is the perfect way to mark it.

All three of these locations are in the Houston area, which is the obvious limitation here. If you’re not in Texas, Detroit Smash Lemonade will remain an afterthought until July 11th rolls around and pictures of someone’s food start circulating. For Houston residents, this seems worth the trip.
