Tarsier Games went to great lengths to create REANIMAL. It may be their boldest and most ambitious project since they left Little Nightmares, and I couldn’t resist talking about it to my friends in my review of the game.
Part of that desire comes from the abundance of collectibles hidden throughout the levels. But today, we are focusing on wooden coffins. There are five of them in total, and if you manage to find them all, this activates the game’s secret ending.

If you want 100 percent completion or Platinum Trophy, you will definitely want to get these. Join me as this guide lists the exact locations of all five hidden boxes in REANIMAL.
These boxes must be found in one game from start to finish. This means you can’t use Chapter Select to go back and find any you may have missed. It needs to be a New Game save file started from the first chapter.
Wooden Box #1
The first box is located in the middle of the section Chapter 1: Dead in the Water. Once you have successfully fixed and attached the wheels to the cart, ride it across the bridge, but don’t go inside the tunnel yet.
Stop in the middle before you enter it, and you’ll notice a railroad crossing on the right. Follow it and enter the train car that came out here. Go through it to the other end of the carriage, emerging from the first wooden box from the side door, as shown above.
Wooden Box #2
The second box can be found in time Chapter 3: After the Flood. Once you have found the boat and the hubs needed to kill the enemies in the water, DO NOT go towards the main road ahead with the hotel sign and the mine under it, as shown above.
Instead, head right, and you’ll see a few mines blocking the way. Destroy them far away, then proceed to the road where you can park your boat. Go down and head to the glowing gate ahead to find a set of stairs that will lead you directly to the second wooden box in REANIMAL.
Wooden Box #3
Thankfully, a third coffin can also be found in it Chapter 3 if you use a boat. In particular, it’s in the middle of the stage that your friend in the alcove above gets caught by a giant bird. Following them leads to a cannon in the water here.
From where you first enter the cannon section, head to the back left side of the area. This is to the left where your main way forward lies on the beach and on the lower left side of the lighthouse. I marked it above, but there is a small cave opening that you can take your boat through here.
Watch out for another enemy in the water that can ambush you inside the tunnel.
Go into it, and you’ll quickly appear in another small area where you can park your boat to go down and collect the third wooden box. Go back to where you came from and proceed to the lighthouse from the beach.

Wooden Box #4
The fourth box in REANIMAL has arrived Chapter 4: No Shelter. To be honest, this will come at the end of the chapter, where you need to save your friend as he is hanging from the rope in the clock tower.
When you first enter the room, take care of all three enemiesthen you can choose to increase the body with the lever, but dealing with it will continue until the end of this chapter, so be careful.
Go to the lower left corner of the room, and inside you will find the fourth box. This one might be the most missed of them all simply because it’s a bit of a connection that ends the whole chapter.
Wooden Box #5
You won’t have to worry about anything in the next two chapters at least, because the last wooden chest is found in Chapter 7: The Spoils. This may be hard to find at first, but trust me, it’s hard not to miss once you know the area.
Once you overcome the trenches and reach the hospital, you will reach a stage where you will enter the intensive care unit after opening it with the bolt cutters. Go inside, and you’ll be swarmed by mobile soldiers trying to blow you up with kamikaze bombs.
Exit the room from the top right by carefully waiting for the soldier to knock down the wall. Get out and be careful to escape and run through the corridor of kamikaze soldiers. When you have gone through them to the end, one last explosion will occur on the wall behind you, next to the wheelchair.
Do not leave this corridor; instead, put a hole in the wall behind you finding a broken crank that you can turn with your partner. This will open a hatch underneath, revealing a ladder. Go down this tall ladder to reveal a wooden storage box that you’ll need to secure the REANIMAL’s secret ending.
How to Unlock the Secret Ending
Obviously, the secret ending will happen once you reach the ending itself. But most importantly, just remember “Friends Reunited” trophy for collecting all these boxes, and the ending itself won’t start until you watch the ending premise first. The secret ending itself is actually like a post-credits cutscene, so don’t worry if you feel like it doesn’t appear.
