Hunter Biden Now Accepts Bitcoin For Artwork On His Official Website

Hunter Biden, son of former President Joe Biden, now accepts Bitcoin as payment for his artwork on his official website.

The home page of Hunter Biden’s official website, hunterbiden.com, features his bold, bold signature, while the footer now includes a simple but striking notice: “BITCOIN ACCEPTED,” listed alongside links to the site’s privacy policy, terms of use and “Verisart Verification.”

Verisart offers blockchain-based certificates of authenticity designed to permanently record the provenance and ownership of works of art, both physical and digital.

Biden’s artwork has been fraught with politics from the start, with early exhibitions in New York and Los Angeles selling prices running between $75,000 and $500,000 despite being a novice artist.

A subsequent report revealed that one prominent buyer, Democratic donor and Los Angeles real estate investor Elizabeth Hirsh Naftali, later received a presidential nomination from Joe Biden, prompting hearings and allegations of influence related to art sales.

The filing in court in March 2025 paints a completely different picture of his current wealth: Biden told the federal judge that he now has “a huge debt in the millions of dollars” and has been able to sell only one painting for 36,000 dollars since the end of 2023, after selling 27 works in the past years for an average of 55,00 dollars.

He cited the sale of shocking art as the reason he could no longer pursue his lawsuits over the publication of material from his infamous laptop.

Hunter Biden: Addiction, grief and a life of scandal

Hunter Biden’s controversies are rooted in a life marked by early trauma and long-term struggles with addiction. He survived a 1972 car accident that killed his mother and younger sister, an incident that left him and his brother Beau severely injured and shaped the family narrative for decades.

As an adult, Hunter Biden has spoken openly about his battles with alcohol and crack cocaine, which intensified after Beau’s death from brain cancer in 2015 and led to a relapse.

These issues came to the fore with his breakup with Kathleen Buhle, who described a relapse and drug use, and later with his controversial relationship with Beau’s widow, Hallie Biden, which attracted media attention.

In 2018, Hunter Biden fathered a child with Lunden Roberts, a woman from Arkansas whom he initially said he did not know; a DNA test confirmed his paternity and ended a long-running child support battle often cited by Republican critics.

His dealings with overseas businesses caused an even greater backlash. Hunter Biden joined the board of Ukrainian gas company Burisma in 2014, reportedly earning up to $1.2 million a year while his father handled Ukraine policy, and pursued business with Chinese investors. Republicans say these programs make money by reaching Joe Biden.

The uproar has intensified after files emerged from a laptop Biden allegedly dumped at a Delaware auto repair shop, appearing to show drug use and foreign affairs discussions.

Federal prosecutors separately charged him with failing to pay more than $1.4 million in taxes and lying about drug use on a 2018 gun form; he was convicted of three gun charges in 2024 before he received a presidential pardon from his father.
