It looks like the time has officially come for us to venture into Mordor again! 10 Best Games Like Kingdom Come To Be Released

While there are few accurate images of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, there are certainly a handful of games that can get the job done.

That’s not all, but the Czech developer dropped the hype by revealing that this isn’t their only project in the works: a brand new adventure in the Kingdom Come universe is also in development.

Juggling Bohemia and Middle-Earth at the Same Time

Sorry Henry But Lord of the Rings RPG is the Real Attention Grabber 2

According to the studio’s official communication channels, both titles are being developed simultaneously. “You may have heard the rumours, it’s time to reveal what we are working on,” the statement read. “An open world Middle-earth RPG [and] New Kingdom Come entertainment. We are happy to tell you more when the time is right.”

While the post is short, the teaser image accompanying both logos (you can check them out above) hides a few interesting details.

Warhorse Studios […] finally put an end to the rumor mill by confirming that they are working on an open world RPG set in Middle-earth.

First, clearly calling it a “middle-earth RPG” rather than a direct The Lord of the Rings tie-in feels like a very deliberate choice of words. This suggests that Warhorse may be exploring a larger field JRR TolkienA legendarium, not compiled from the direct narrative of the main books or film trilogies.

Meanwhile, the second sign is notably devoid of the word “Deliverance” or the traditional “3”, suggesting that this new Kingdom Come project may be a culmination or a new vision rather than a continuation (of sorts) of Henry’s personal journey.

That’s it, and the Czech studio made it clear that more details about both projects will be shared when the time is right. But let’s be completely honest here: as much as I love Henry and the historical realism of Bohemia, the Middle-Earth project is completely stealing the limelight right now! Check out what fans of The Lord of the Rings have been fed lately – in between creative hiccups Return to Moria and the critical crisis that existed GollumTolkien’s universe is very hungry for new game experiences.

And Warhorse just doesn’t know how to play it safe. They excel at building worlds with uncompromising and incredible attention to detail, without fear of challenging ideas. Applying that design philosophy to Middle-Earth is a hope that many, until now, thought was impossible! Don’t get me wrong, Kingdom Come is great, but an open world RPG where we can experience the scale of Tolkien’s world through a focused Warhorse lens? Sorry, Henry, but that’s exactly what we’ve been waiting for for years – and didn’t even know.
