Nintendo Leaks Point To Majora’s Mask HD And Oracle Revival

I know, we’re all excited about the remake of the classic The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, so much so that I’ve lost count of how many people I’ve seen hunting deer. Nintendo Switch 2 just so you don’t miss out on the new version scheduled for release later this year.

However, it seems that Zelda fans (and I include myself in this) will have to prepare their wallets even more, because Nintendo it may develop not only that one remake, but also two other modern versions of previous chapters from the iconic franchise.

Back to Termina & Handheld Classics

This speculation comes from GameReactor, which reported on Thursday some interesting information that recently appeared on IMDb.

Basically, after the analysis of the voice actor profile And Buyuki Hiyamawho has given his voice to Link several times in the past, including Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo 64, a new subtle update was noticed: credit to Hiyama for voicing Link using the Fierce Deity Mask unannounced. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask HD.

So, if this turns out to be true in the coming months, it seems that Nintendo wants to revive OoT’s strange sibling, which came out a few years after the first one and takes Link on a journey outside of Hyrule against a villain who isn’t Ganondorf. However, due to the presence of “HD” in the title, it will likely not get the full remake treatment, but rather a polished remaster. I mean, I’ll take it – it’s my favorite Zelda game, so I welcome any excuse to play it again.

Noticed a new subtle update: credit to Hiyama for voicing the link using the Fierce Deity Mask in The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask HD.

Jokes aside, another interesting thing to point out is that, given the way the development pipeline works, voice talent and audio production are often integrated during the later stages of production. So, having an actor’s credit on IMDb right now might mean that Majora’s Mask HD is actually in a very advanced stage of development.

Although Nintendo has not yet confirmed the leak, the timing makes perfect sense to keep the momentum of the franchise roaring, which may be launched not long after the overhaul planned for the holiday season, perhaps at the beginning of the 2027 window.

But it doesn’t stop there! Something interesting also appeared in the profile of Mikiharu Ooiwawho is a proven veteran of the franchise, boasting more than 15 years in the saga, and recently working as the director of Echoes of Wisdom.

His profile lists an unannounced second title in pre-production: The Legend of Zelda: Oracles. If you don’t remember, Oracles is a duology within a franchise, created The Oracle of Ages again The Oracle of the Seasonswhich was originally released in 2001 for the Game Boy Color. Basically, it’s one of the most talked about handheld Zelda games, but in my opinion, that’s not fair because it’s just as quirky and fun as the classics. Link’s Awakening.

By the way, the list also notes that the actor Mitsuki Saigabest known for voicing Link and Ravio in A Link Between Worldsviewed through the eyes of the voice of Measure again. But the information about this job just stops there.

However, after all that, it seems that IMDb has spoken a lot and may have given us a glimpse of Nintendo’s future plans for The Legend of Zelda franchise, which, to be honest, is quite welcome, especially after everyone thought that the Japanese company would leave us empty-handed when the franchise’s 40th anniversary is celebrated!
