According to Toei’s President and CEO, Fumio Yoshimura, the decision to create Toei Games is part of the company’s medium- and long-term project called “Toei New Wave 2033” with the aim of bringing more news to the world.

Yoshimura went on to clarify that, “We believe that our challenge in the games business, with the global market as our biggest battleground, is a manifestation of that vision.”

While the news that Toei Games will not be producing titles based on its established, most popular franchises may disappoint many fans, its new games will likely still feature the same comedic appeal and dramatic appeal as tokusatsu and anime productions.

Additionally, if Toei Games’ first few titles end up doing well in the global market, they may one day release games based on existing franchises to gather new fans from all over the world, like a game based on a new game.
