Chaos
Bring back Gaige
Starting off the list of Borderlands 4 shotguns is the powerful Anarchy, a gun that returns from Borderlands 3, and another reminiscent of Gaige’s action ability from Borderlands 2.
This gun is an absolute beast when it comes to taking down enemies. With the legendand perk Mutualism, it gets a bunch of Mutualism each time you get a kill or do an auto reload.
Each stack of this perk gives the gun 15% more damage, meaning it can melt enemies if you’re willing to put in the time to accumulate enough perks. Unfortunately, the downside is that you lose all accuracy with this weapon, as stacks also remove 15% accuracy each.

There’s nothing like dealing damage to all your enemies, especially in a Borderlands game. After all, this is the kind of chaotic nature gamers are looking for in this series of stealth shooters.
The Rainbow Vomit gun has a special ability called Color Spray, which allows it to shoot bullets that are composites of various materials. For example, one can roll incendiary, cryo, and corrosive, while another can roll cryo, radiation, and shock. It is not randomized each time this weapon drops.
This weapon is perfect for those who want to use a basic damage build, but it works best on Harlowe. Of course, basic damage is great for any vault hunter who wants to easily use status effects.

Go on foot
- Location: Dropped by Skyspanner Kratch in the Cuspid Climb section of the Terminus Range.
Although Mr. With Torgue not officially in the game, there are plenty of Torgue-branded weapons to get your hands on and the Linebacker is one of them. This weapon is all about the big bang, and it won’t disappoint when it comes to clearing out hordes of enemies.
The Linebacker has the Full Synergy ability, which allows him to shoot bouncing projectiles that increase their damage by 25% and radius by 35% with each bounce. These shots tend to bounce up to five times when you shoot, creating a cone-like AOE.
Unless the weapon is Torgue’s gun, bullets will bounce off enemies, damaging them in time, and damaging additional enemies behind them. This makes Linebacker great for clearing mobs and great for big bosses.

The Kickballer

- Location: Dropped by Sludgemaw in the northern part of the Idolator’s Noose section of the Fadefields.
The Kickballer is one of the popular guns in Borderlands 4. This is because the weapon shoots a ball that moves around the environment instead of a normal shot.
A ball fired from this weapon leaves clouds of characteristic damage where it hits, and enemies caught between these areas take significant damage. This is another weapon that works very well with basic damage build up.
Due to the hot projectile type, the Kickerballer can deal a large amount of damage, but it can really shine if you use a special knife, as this will allow you to make critical hits every now and then, destroying enemies in the process.

The Golden God is a brilliant weapon that shines brighter than the others on the list but doesn’t stand out as much as the others. It has the power of Rage, which makes its magazine a large size no matter how many bullets it still has.
Since the bulletforge does not break when this gun overheats, you can fire it continuously, but doing so will consume a large amount of ammo, making this weapon a huge ammo hog.
Holding the gun down, you can tear through enemies and bosses, but you may find yourself buying more ammo than usual to keep up with the use of this weapon. Despite the economic setback, the Golden God remains a must-have for many Borderlands 4 players.

This is where we start getting into weapons that can deal an extraordinary amount of damage, and it all starts with the Dohot. This weapon appears in the Legend of the Stone Demon DLC, and is a must have if you own the expansion.
This weapon usually comes with five rounds in the magazine, and its Doer special ability makes it fire all five rounds in rapid succession. Although this is very powerful, there are exceptions to this weapon that make it even better.
What you want is a Dohot pistol with a Ripper magazine. This will cause the gun to fire continuously and is a rapid fire gun. This will also make it one of the best guns you can get.

Meeting
The letters come together
- Location: Dropped by Bramblesong in the northern part of the Ruined Sumplands section of the Terminus Range.
Returning from Borderlands 3, Convergence is a unique weapon with the Asymptotic ability, which causes a stream of bullets to converge on any enemy hit by this weapon.
This ability makes Convergence a force to be reckoned with, as it will break through enemy health barriers with ease. Because of its ability, it can also place damage buffs that need to hit very quickly.
While it won’t dish out a lot of damage in one shot, Convergence is a great all-around weapon that won’t slow you down and will continue to perform at its maximum power without any special parts.

The Mantra

Just like in Borderlands 3, there is a gun in Borderlands 4 that deals melee damage, and it’s called Mantra. The bullets fired from this weapon are punches that look similar to Amara’s original summons as part of her Siren abilities.
You can taunt this weapon by increasing your splash damage, melee damage, gun damage, and elemental damage, making it more powerful and able to shoot multiple enemies at once. There are even videos of players taking out bosses with two images on this weapon.
The downside of this weapon is its rate of fire. It needs to be charged before it can fire, and when it starts firing, it only fires twice at a time, making it slow.

You may remember TK’s Wave from the original Borderlands, or maybe from Borderlands 3. The weapon has made many appearances over the years of the franchise’s existence, and each time it was a nice reminder of our old friend.
In Borderlands 4, this weapon fires a line of bullets that flows in a wave pattern. These letters spread and bounce as they go. Of course, the best thing about this weapon is that it’s Jakobs’ gun, which means it does a lot of damage.
While the standard variant of this weapon is powerful, and can easily help you by moving people around, you’ll want the Torgue-licensed variant, as this will allow you to fire sticky grenades, dealing massive amounts of damage to enemies, including bosses.

If you’re a fan of Borderlands 4, you’re probably not surprised that the Bod is considered the best gun in the game. After all, it has a broken All-Arounder ability that makes it count as a pistol, assault rifle, sniper rifle, pistol, and smg.
This ability allows you to stack insane amounts of damage on this weapon as almost any bonus applies to it. Thanks to this bonus, the Bod can do wonders for any build as well, making it one of the best weapons in the game overall.
