Towards the end of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, a side quest opens called “Blackbeard’s Treasure.” This quest sends Edward on a treasure hunt for a famous pirate.

If you look at Blackbeard’s Treasure Map, you will see that there is an arrow pointing to the city, with the words “Kingston” below the arrow. The map also shows a large red X above Kingston, indicating that the treasure can be found north of the city.

Now if we take this information and apply it to the in-game map, we can come to the conclusion that the red X has been planted Anotto Baya hidden cave in Charlotte county. Here are the direct links to Anotto Bay 590,245.

Blackbeard’s treasure can be found deep in the Anotto Bay cave system, but getting to this cave area is the first struggle you’ll encounter during this side adventure. It’s not an easy cave to navigate, so the next section explains exactly how to find Blackbeard’s treasure inside Anotto Bay.

Finding Blackbeard’s Treasure in Anotto Bay

When you first arrive at Anotto Bay, you will find a large shipwreck sticking out of the water. Diving down near this shipwreck will reveal an entrance surrounded by jellyfish.

Go through this door and make your way through the water canal system until you get to the inside of the cave where enemies are waiting for you.

First, get out of the water and kill all the enemies in the area. Although this place may seem like an end, there is actually a secret passage nearby blocked by debris. Use the view button to make a green dot appear, indicating the correct wall.

To open this method, you need btake it down with one red barrel nearby. There are a number of red barrels in the area, so approach one, select the option to carry it, and bring it to the path blocked by debris.

Next, you’ll want to shoot the red barrel to make it explode. Before doing this, make sure you are a safe distance away so you don’t take any damage from the explosion.

After blowing up the barrel, a path will open up, allowing you to continue forward. Continue straight until you reach another area with a few enemies.

You will want to do the same thing you did before again blow up a bunch of rocks to reveal a hidden path. The wall that needs to be blown up is located on the right side of this area, as shown in the picture below.

Unfortunately, Blackbeard’s chest dit does not contain anything very important to you. Instead of having a unique weapon, ship upgrade, trinket, etc., only a chest contains Great Inagua’s tools and a note from Blackbeard.

The letter is written to Edward and talks about the importance of tools. Blackbeard mentions that it can be used to rebuild their home base, making it more alive than ever. These tools are not actually used by the player and are only related to the story.

Blackbeard then leaves a note stating that there is an important treasure somewhere, but there is no map leading to it. In other words, he doesn’t want anyone, including Edward, to find it.
