Cards That Make Necrobinder Fun to Play in Slay the Spire 2

Although there are a few returning characters Kill Spire 2this particular list is about one of the new additions to the Roguelike deck builder. He passes by the Necrobinder, and seeks bloody revenge. The only catch is that he’s not dead, and he’s somewhat weak. But he is also an amazing ingredient in this game.
Not only can Necrobinder use Doom against enemies, dragging them to hell if it exceeds their HP, but it also has an array of powerful Ethereal cards that disappear when not in use. You might not be sold on him yet, but the best thing about him is that he doesn’t fight alone.

The Necrobinder’s right-hand man is a giant fist of bones named Osty. Not only does it absorb unblockable damage, but it grows stronger and stronger, eventually becoming a big problem for its enemies. So let’s talk about some of the cards used by both of these two mutants, making them a powerful fighting team!

A song of mourning
Song of Lent
Now, while Osty is a valuable asset in battle, he is also one that takes time to cultivate well. His HP starts out very low, slowly increasing every time, assuming he isn’t broken and is forced to start over. But thankfully, there is a way to speed things up with cards called Summons, which increase his maximum health and heal him in some cases.
Dirge is an amazing asset, assuming you have enough power to power it. Any card with an X cost increases all your available energy to activate it. And in Dirge, each power point turns into Osty’s extra life force. It’s even more impressive if you upgrade the card.
This means that if you have some energy to spare, you can double or triple Osty’s low health, making him a skeletal tank that can absorb heavy hits. When combined with cards like Unleash, carrying damage and more health, it gets even better. And that’s before adding Souls to your deck, which gives Necrobinder a quick and easy way to draw more cards.

Grave Manager
Bony Boss Lady
While one way to help Osty fight is to use Summon cards, another is simply to raise the Necrobinder’s defense so that he doesn’t take full advantage of the enemy’s attacks. One card that really helped me with that is Grave Warden.
Grave Warden is less expensive and adds more Block than normal defensive cards. Best of all, like Dirge, it adds more souls to your deck, which improves your draw options. So even though Souls has Exhaust, which means it disappears from your deck after you play it, it still works.
There’s another reason why Souls works so well, and we’ll talk about it all in the next entry.

Hawt
The Ungrateful Dead
Power cards really work Kill Spire 2as they add passive effects during the battle they are activated. Generally, this means that they are really expensive, costing 2 or more power. But that’s not the case with Haunt, which is why it’s been such a valuable addition to my running.
Remember all those Souls added to your deck with other Necrobinder cards? The Haunt is how you continuously benefit from them. Every time Necrobinder plays a Soul card and draws, he will also damage a random enemy.
Slay The Spire 2: How To Slay The Doormaker
I’m the one knocking!
Although this is not a lot of damage, and it is not done randomly, it can be a save in challenging battles. And if you have a variety of ways to keep drawing and adding mana, you can really tie up bosses with Haunt as well.

The killer
Wave of Darkness
Earlier, I mentioned that some of Necrobinder’s specialties use cards that include Doom. It’s really useful, because if it stacks up enough, the Doomed enemy will die even if they have health left. And with cards like Deathbringer, that’s probably true.
So even though Deathbringer is a bit expensive at 2 power, it’s well worth it. Because not only does it inflict 21 Doom on all enemies, but it also weakens them! This means the Necrobinder won’t have to worry too much about enemies breaching his or Osty’s defenses.
I’ve had many times when this card changed the game, and it helped me get through previous fights against aggressive enemy groups with low HP. You will eventually learn to love the power of Doom.

Throw up
Beaten by Osty
Now, perhaps the only Necrobinder fighting alongside Osty is that they share a deck, which means you’ll have to choose whether to use power on his or her attacks. But that’s not the biggest concern with cards like Flatten.
Just play Osty’s low cost attack card, and if Flatten is in hand, it will suddenly cost zero for the rest of this turn. And if you have a hand full of them? Well, let’s say that enemy gets hit by a giant Skeleton Thing.
The best part is that Osty has weak cards that cost zero. So if you have a deck full of those and Flatten, your opponent is in for a world of damage.
5
Neurosurgeon
Necromantic wisdom
In general, it’s not the best idea to use Doom on yourself. But most powerful cards in Necrobinders have that as a tradeoff, and if you’re careful, that won’t be much of a concern. You just have to make sure Doom isn’t your opponent before the proverbial clock runs out on him.
Neurosurge is a very powerful card. It costs nothing but a little Doom, and gives you a burst of energy and draws two cards. When you’re in a really tough fight, Neurosurge can mean the difference between victory and defeat.
10 cards make Regent a joy to play in Slay the Spire 2
If you want to be treated like a king, you’ll love playing these Regent cards in Slay the Spire 2!
Cards like these are the glue that holds powerful decks together, so don’t worry about results, and overwhelm your opponent with a flash of power!
4
Melancholy
Smile Down Down
At first, I didn’t think Melancholy was worth the high cost. Sure, it drops when enemies die, but that didn’t seem worth it. Until I realized that it means or anyonewhich sadly means Osty.
Of course, you generally want to keep Osty alive so he can continue to grow in strength, but there’s a good chance he’ll be distracted in the first two rounds of combat, no matter what your intentions are. So why not use Melancholy?
When Melancholy becomes the least expensive card, it turns out to be one of the most amazing defensive cards Necrobinder uses. Don’t worry, Osty will probably forgive his master. One day.
3
The Scythe
One Grim card
Now, it’s not really surprising that the whole vibe of Necrobinder is like a female Grim Reaper. So why not make it a perfect match for The Scythe? This is a damaging card. Yes, it can only be used once per battle, but there is a big catch. Every time it is used, it will become stronger in the future. This means it can deal 30+ damage in one hit over time.
Now, if you have a way to reduce the cost of The Scythe, or add more copies to your deck? Then suddenly it’s an amazing asset. You might even be able to figure out ways to put Tired cards back into your deck to get some immortal brutality…
2
The right hand
Repetitive Boxing
In the same game Kill Spire 2you won’t just want powerful cards, you’ll want cards that can be used multiple times, and that offer combos and more. The Right Hand is not only a cute pun on “right hand man”, but one of the best Necrobinder outfits.
Even if it doesn’t deal a lot of damage, you can always rely on Right Hand to find a way back into your deck. All it takes is for it to be in your Discard Pile and to play a card worth 2 or more power. And while most of Necrobinder’s cards aren’t cheap, they’re all really powerful.
The best characters in Slay the Spire 2, Counting
Few, Proud, Slay The Spire Squad.
My favorite combo usually revolves around mixing this card with other X power costers, like Dirge. But sometimes you want to go all out, and that’s saved for the last card on this list.
1
Squeeze
Crushed Blind
Everyone loves a game-saving card, and in Necrobinder, that card is Squeeze. It costs 3 energy, but it’s worth it. It does more damage not based on the attacks you make, but on how many other Osty attack cards are in your deck!
I was suddenly doing 60 or more damage with every Squeeze, making it easily one of my favorite cards. You won’t even care about the cost of the card if it spends the life of the holders alone.
So if you weren’t sold on The Necrobinder before, I hope you’ll consider this undead gladiator in a future run. It’s cute, but it’s also very fun!
