Cards make The Silent a joy to play in Slay the Spire 2

I’ve been lucky enough to share a few new arrivals with you Kill Spire 2both Regent and Necrobinder. But if I’m going to write an existing character, it would have to be my favorite, The Silent. Sure, he’s wearing skeletons and wielding a knife, but he’s also incredibly powerful and a lot of fun to play with despite his scary appearance.

Not only do The Silent, slow-killing poison enemies turn up in a row, but you move around the area faster, and you have Sly cards that benefit from being discarded. Even though he is not as strong as Ironclad, he is more than his unstoppable power. He’s the only character I was able to beat that plague heart at first Kill Spire.

If you’re feeling the heart of cards in 2026, you should check out this list of upcoming Deckbuilder events.

Even though he plays the same way in the sequel, let me share the special cards from his deck that make The Silent a great force of nature.

Express

No Defense for You

The Silent Expose

At first glance, The Silent doesn’t look that powerful. Both Regent and Necrobinder have very powerful attacks by comparison. But what he says is his power, to end with cruelty. A perfect example is Expose.

It costs nothing and quickly wipes out any defenses his opponent tries to put together. Sure, It’s over after that, but otherwise it might be unfair. Even better, it makes the enemy vulnerable, meaning any damage dealt by Silent is magnified.

My favorite part about Expose isn’t that it removes the Block from enemies, but that it removes the Artifact, which is an incredibly annoying stat that protects enemies from bad situations that I like to put into them.

Iron Storm

Knives for everyone

Silent Steel Storm

In general, I gravitate towards cards that allow me to search my deck, not just those that discard my hand. But there’s a good reason Storm of Steel is on this list. Namely, it allows you to turn your entire hand into Shivs, which cost zero energy.

If you have a bunch of expensive cards in your hand, this can make it an easy decision. But my favorite part about this card is combining it with another one called Envenom, which makes all of The Silents attacks poison my enemies and damage them.

A way to make Storm of Steel even more brutal is to use it if every card in your hand has Sly, meaning it will work even when discarded. It’s one heck of a metal tornado.

The Bouncing Flask

Just a Drop of Poison

Silent Bouncing Flask

Although it’s not something I bring up in normal conversation, I like to poison my enemies in games. There is something tricky and satisfying about hitting my enemy, hiding, and letting him fall slowly as his body falls apart. It’s cruel, sure, but it’s the most effective method used by The Silent.

The Bouncing Flask is one of the better ways to poison enemies, aside from the aforementioned Envenom. It doesn’t cost a ton of power, and the random effect can be very useful against hordes of baddies.

Slay The Spire 2 Queen Feature

Slay The Spire 2: How to Slay the Queen

Bow before your Queen!

This is especially helpful when facing a single boss whose life should be easy, especially when paired with another card that increases how much poison he has accumulated.

7

Point

Accurate Execution

The Silent Point

At face value, Pinpoint doesn’t look good. It costs a ton, so even though it does a lot of damage, it’s hard to justify. But if you look at the second result, it’s amazing. Each Skill card played that chance reduces the energy cost of targeting by one.

That means if you play a lot of cards that add Block or Search in your deck, suddenly Targeting is worthless for 17 damage. It has improved, and is even more brutal.

I’ve had hands with multiple points and multiple abilities before, and it usually resulted in my opponent being destroyed. This is a really fun card to build your deck around.

6

Acrobatics

Killer Moves

Silent Acrobatics

Earlier, I was talking about how The Silent works at speed in his deck. And with cards like Acrobatics, you start to understand that that’s a feature, not a flaw, of his design.

This card is a really useful way to turn a dud hand into a deadly one, especially if you throw a lot of Sly cards into the combo. Then suddenly it becomes a way to use your deck and make sure all the cards you discard work for you.

Acrobatics is far from the only card that works like this in The Silent, but it’s certainly one of the better options. Another card is our next one.

5

Adrenaline

Second Wind

Silent Adrenaline

Adrenaline is one of those cards that you want in every deckbuilder. It costs nothing, adds power, and draws cards. Yes, it loses power after that, but that’s not a big problem.

This is the card to use if you are not a fan of heavy discard and want a safe option. It’s also useful naturally in any deck you build for The Silent.

Vault of the Void, Monster Train, Roguebook, One Step from Eden

8 Top Builders for Beginners

Time to fight! Oh wait…

Although most of The Silents cards are not very expensive, this is a safe way to ensure that you can use the most expensive cards.

4

Envenom

The Deadly Drip

Silent Envenom

Envenom is one of the best Power cards The Silent can use. I really enjoy building decks around him, because it makes him attack and kill more.

Poison is especially useful against enemies that put up heavy shields, as it can go through them and do direct damage. It’s a really fun card to use with less expensive cards, The Silent has a lot of them.

Although it’s slow to start up, Envenom has been the reason I’ve beaten the odds with The Silent more than once.

3

Kill him

A Painful Beginning

The Silent Killer

Murder is the reason Expose wasn’t at the top of this list. Both are very useful, and although Expose is technically more powerful, Assassinate is more useful. Having Innate means you’ll always draw it on your first turn.

This makes it the perfect setup card to weaken and damage enemies, which is a fun start to any battle. It can quickly take down smaller enemies, and start taming larger ones for The Silent to deal with.

The only downside to this card is that it runs out, so if you can make a lot of copies in a run, you’ll really see the beauty of the kill.

2

He is a completer

Stabby Stab

Silent Complement

While initially dark, The Silent’s attack doesn’t look that strong, cards like Finisher make it all come together. Every single attack that plays before the Finisher deals a lot of damage.

If you have a bunch of low or zero cost attacks in hand with a Finisher, suddenly it can do over 50 damage in a single burst. And that’s before you consider how amazing this card is when it’s upgraded.

Slay the Spire 2 Character Feature

Slay The Spire 2: How To Unlock All Characters

Two new heroes enter the fray!

This is a really powerful attack, but sometimes an innocent offense needs to lean on an epic defense.

1

Behind the picture

Can’t Touch This

Silent Afterimage

In general, defense is not something The Silent. He tends to lean heavily on his offense. But with cards like Afterimage, you can enjoy both at the same time.

When this ability is active, each card you play adds 1 Block to The Silent. This means that every attack, ability, and anything else The Silent plays gives him a shell.

Afterimage is an amazing card, especially if you can Innate it. But either way, it turns this sneaky assassin into a tough turtle of chaos.
