Final Fantasy and fashion have a lot in common, as the heroes and villains of the franchise tend to dress very well. Most Final Fantasy characters come dressed to kill, but if you’re planning to look good, having a good hairstyle is a good place to start. It just goes together, after all.

Seymour Guado
Bit Rich, but OK
Bad people in any way tend to have all the fun. They usually get the coolest weapons, the coolest clothes, and the most interesting conversation. That is true of Seymour Guado, one of the main antagonists of Final Fantasy 10.
Since Sin’s unusual condition meant that good hair was not an option, Seymour had to pick up the slack. And she took it, as her shiny hair and unique flow stood out from all the other characters in the game.
No other character in Final Fantasy 10, except maybe Kimari, had cool hair like Seymour. It looks really good from every single angle, and if you look at Tetsuya Nomura’s character concept art, you can really see how well they converted his design into 3D.

The Kefka Palazzo
You’re Out of Line, But You Have a Point
Kefka is an uncontrollable monster during the events of Final Fantasy 6, as his irrational desire to destroy hope and human free will is the stuff of nightmares. At the very least, though, you have to admit that her hair is completely transparent. I hate this horrible clown as much as you do, but you have to give him what he deserves.
Her long, flowing blonde locks are simply divine, tied into a high, tight ponytail. Not only that, Kefka has a great eye for how to accessorize and make her hair stand out even more, as she accentuates it with a feathered collar.
When Kefka turns into a monster in his last episode, the funniest part is that his hair doesn’t fade. Even at the end, Kefka understood this assignment and did not let his hair go.

Cecil Harvey
Simply Elegant
It was hard to tell during the 2D era of Final Fantasy, but Cecil Harvey had amazing hair. Thanks to the 3D remake of Final Fantasy 4, and its disappointing sequel, The After Years, the full length of Cecil’s beautiful hair has never been clearer.
After the former Dark Knight atoned for his sins and became a Paladin, all the darkness and violence around him began to fade. In subsequent appearances, Cecil’s white hair continued to look more stunning each time.
In his appearances in various fighting games, such as Dissidia, and the high-level cutscenes of the FF4 remake, Cecil has shown how much he cares about his hair. The former Dark Knight turned Paladin is one of Final Fantasy’s most overlooked heroes, and his visual flow has helped maintain his presence for years.

Ultimecia
The Devil is in the Details
The powerful, time-traveling Sorceress Ultimecia torments the Final Fantasy 8 party over the course of four discs and nearly fifty hours of gameplay. At that time, Ultimecia always wanted to understand the first rule about villains, which is to look good while doing your evil plan.
Ultimecia’s long, silver mane falls down to her waist and is absolutely divine. What sells it, however, is the fact that it is tied behind it in the shape of horns because of his head.
Her stunning looks are still very beautiful today. It’s the theatrical nature of both her character and the scheme that highlights her incredible hair, as Ultimecia’s devilish locks are simply stunning.

Zack Fair
First Class Soldier, First Class Hair
Even in early 3D, with the low poly models that Final Fantasy 7 had to use, you can tell that Zack Fair is something special. One of the reasons for that was his long, slicked back mane of black hair.
He looked like a rock star with a sword replacing a guitar, and the PS1’s hardware limitations almost didn’t matter. Beautiful hair shines no matter what, even with this low number of polys.

Shiva has appeared in almost every Final Fantasy game as an ability summon. Dating back to Final Fantasy 3 in 1990, Shiva is one of the most frequent characters in the series, alongside Chocobos and a man named Cid.
Along the way, each iteration of Shiva has some of the most iconic hairstyles in franchise history. The level of fine detail and intricacy within each version of Shiva is something to behold, honestly.
That being said, I think her hair in Final Fantasy 10 is still the best. The way it surrounds her head with the gold trim and its flowing nature is amazing. It almost looks and feels alive in his calling pictures.

Sazh Katzroy
The old man still has it
Sazh is Lightning’s intelligent best friend in Final Fantasy 13, as the two meet during the game’s sequel. He is one of the most likable and likable team members in the game, coming armed with his strong style and amazing acting to match.
This handsome, stylish villain has the coolest hair in the entire franchise. It always looks amazing, it’s never too distracting, and it gives him a different look compared to everyone else in the game.
Not only that, Sazh has a different reputation in his hair, as a cute little critter known as Chocobo Chick lives in his hair. It’s a lovely little detail, and seeing her come out every now and then is so cute.

There have always been many comparisons between Lightning, the stoic protagonist of Final Fantasy 13, and Cloud Strife. To be honest, most of those comparisons aren’t entirely fair, but they mostly depend on a basic reading of both characters.
One area where the two are similar, however, is their choice of hair. Lightning’s hair is simply stunning in design and movement, as Square used cutting-edge technology to create smooth, silky animations of hair and fabrics.
In the game’s high-quality CG cutscenes, the hair is absolutely beautiful. Subtle, subtle shades that shift between pink and white look amazing in practice.

Cool Sword, Even Cool Hair
If any Final Fantasy character has made an impression on the franchise for many reasons, it’s Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7. The change of the franchise from traditional fantasy to more anime and science fiction has never been clearer than in Cloud himself, who looked and felt like an anime character brought to life in 3D.
The asymmetrical shape has become iconic over the years. Even after a day on the PS1, the design was so good that it was readable at a low poly rate. It’s a sign of great design that you can see and understand with a limited number of pixels to work with.
In the years since FF7 first came out, Cloud’s hair has become one of his defining features. The simple image of Cloud with the Buster Sword and his trademark winged hair is one that resembles Final Fantasy.

Sephiroth
Stupid Sexy Sephiroth!
The most interesting part of Sephiroth to me has always been how the characters of Final Fantasy 7 describe him, despite his disdain for humanity and desire to dominate them. The words that often appear are attractive or beautiful, which is a strange concept considering his destructive plans for the world.
Part of that allure certainly comes from her hair, which almost feels unnatural. The long, flowing strands of silver are just amazing to look at, especially in later games where more detail can be gathered. Many Final Fantasy characters have amazing hair, but very few of them have hair tied to the root of their character as beautifully as Sephiroth.
Sephiroth’s hair looks great, but it’s also part of his character in a very specific way. It is a part of everyone, as they build their personality and myth in the world. Not many Final Fantasy characters can say that.
