Subnautica 2: Where to find Houndgar
Prepare for problems! And make it twice!
Let’s take a look at all 7 locations and how to find Biobeds to start our adventure with a bang!
Welcome Center Cave Biobed
This place is really close to spawning, so it might be the first one you come across. Directly east of the Welcome Center, near the spawning area, you’ll find a series of caves.
Most hiding places are marked by a tall, man-made green light. Usually, these lights will be found outside the cave entrance, indicating that something is inside. Following these lights will lead to a hiding place, and inside, an inventory upgrade.
From the picture above, swim forward into the cave and past the large column of gushing water. You will find yourself in a long horizontal cave. From here, swim east until you see a green man-made light, then go through the tunnel. Here you will see another map and the entrance to the hideout.
Crater Biobed
This is another place that is easy and very close to reproduction. Launch directly from the lifepod and swim The Southwest until you reach the big Crater. This crater is where you start the game, but you can’t reach the bottom without anything else your gear upgrade.
You have the western edge of the crater, you will notice the large Cicada Wreck; you can ignore this for now. Instead, turn your attention to the north, and you’ll see the crimson ring of the hideout door glowing in the dark.
Rock Biobed column
This is really easy to get to early. This is the place southeast of the Welcome Center or directly east of the large Crater. You can easily see the entrance through a large stone column sticking out of the water. Especially, the rock that has it 3 lines attachment.
Walk down to the man-made light, and you’ll notice a large circular hole around a column of rock. The entrance to the next hideout is directly under the green light. Jump down and double up to find the next Biobed.
Coral Tower Biobed
Although this hideout is really close to spawning, it can be a bit of a pain to find, as you will need to go down through a bunch of caves. This place, if you don’t know where you are going, can be very confusing. So it makes sense to be at least 1 Oxygen tank upgradeand a Tadpole waiting outside, or i Air Bladder for emergencies.
If you like, try going in and out of the cave a few times to get your bearings. This will help if you run out of oxygen and need to escape quickly.
Heads about 140m north of the Lifepoda little west of Angel Comb, and you will see a large tower of bright Orange Coral. Walk to the base of the building, and you’ll find a blue light and a cave entrance.
Head down, running past the Poison Sponge. At the bottom, follow the green mushroom-like plants and head into the next cave. Here, take a right, towards the large Pink Cabbage Shortroot. You will see a small crack that leads to another cave.
Go forward, and keep swimming until you see a man-made green light. Here you can swim down, and you’ll see a red entrance to another hideout directly below.
Plateau Biobed
This one is much simpler than the previous base. First, go to Old Habitat site. The entrance to the cave in the picture above is there directly east. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you’re in front of a giant jellyfish painted on a rock.
Just swim through the hole with the man-made lamp and go straight down. The entrance is there on your left at the bottom of the canyon.
Tropical Region Cicada Wreck Biobed
To get into the hot water east of the Lifepod, you’ll need to first Heat Exchange from Angel Comb west of the starting point.

Subnautica 2: All Transformations
Adapt or perish, now as ever, is an unalterable force of nature.
Once you have this, head to the large Cicada crash site in the Graveyard Biome. You will find an entrance on the north side. Go through the open door, take a left and another, and you’ll find yourself in front of another Biobed. They only exist 4 rooms in all this danger, so there is no way you will get lost.
Hot Region Nahema’s Lab Biobed
As soon as you find the crashed Biobed, you can go directly southwest in relation to the next place. This is also within the tropical region of the ocean.
The best way to discover this place is to walk directly northeast of a large hole in the groundwhich leads to Hot Cave Basecamp. This cave entrance is not marked with a green light like the others, but luckily, the cave is not very long, which means you can see the way to hide outside the cave.
