During the process of creating a pot, you will notice that different types of pots have different abilities. While some of these are good, others stand out as being too good to use in combat.

Depending on the skill you have, you will be able to take out opponents, poison the ground, or create a turret. Here are the best skills to aim for when creating a pot in the Kiln.

Drilling

Dig and Hit

If you are a fan of small, quick pots, then making a jug will be of great help to you. Small pots don’t usually have as much health as larger ones, and they can’t hit as hard in battle.

The Drill skill helps with this, as it allows you to dig underground and maneuver around enemies. You can choose to blast down to damage those around you, but it’s also great for getting into enemy territory.

We used the Drill ability to drill past enemies while they were still distracted, easily reaching their furnace to drain water from it. It’s a small trick with a big impact.

This ability makes the cactus grow higher in your pot. Then you hit the ground in front of you, leaving a trail of needles in your wake. Not only does the initial slam do good damage, but the needles are a permanent effect that will make opponents run away.

This ability can be charged, creating an AOE cone. Any enemy caught within the AOE will be momentarily stunned, giving you a chance to attack them without retaliation.

This is great when working in groups, or can be used as a way to escape from enemies if you’re damaged. Either way, it’s a great skill to have.

The Slowing Hourglass

Make Time Stand Still

Manipulating time is a great power to have in most games, and it can be a little overpowering in Kiln. The Slowing Hourglass ability allows you to create an AOE that slows down the time of any enemy caught inside.

The AOE isn’t too big, but it can catch a few small enemies or one very large enemy. Either way, they are helpless inside the bubble, allowing you and your teammates to easily attack them without retaliating.

All the opponent can do is try to run away, and you’ll probably smash them before they get out. This ability is granted in medium chalices.

Dynamite Toss

Small pots can have trouble damaging opponents very effectively due to their small size and lack of health. If you’re not afraid to go all in on health, you can make a bottle with the Dynamite Toss skill.

This burst ability allows you to throw yourself far away from enemies, causing an explosion where you land. It’s a skill that surprises many, and makes them reinvent themselves.

Using this ability on a group of enemies attacking your hall can help you gain the upper hand, or you can use it as a strong attack to help your group push into the enemy’s hearth.

Morningstar

The Morningstar ability allows you to turn your pot into a lethal weapon, creating a large morning star above you before swinging it down with great force into a small area. Although the AOE isn’t too great, any pots unlucky enough to get caught in them will be destroyed.
