Crimson Desert: Hardest Bosses, Ranked

Crimson Desert features a huge open world that you can discover with secrets in every corner. And a very deadly world, containing challenging bosses that will give you a chance to spend your money.
While Crimson Desert isn’t technically Souls, it does borrow elements from that genre. For example, its boss fight requires patience and forces the player to learn his opponent’s moves in order to emerge victorious.

In this list, we focus on the eight most challenging bosses in the game that will probably take you a lot of effort to defeat. Here are the hardest bosses in Crimson Desert, ranked from hardest to hardest.
8
Hex Marie
Teleporting Witch
Of all the bosses on this list, I would say that Hexe Marie is the most annoying. With his ability to summon dead soldiers and ravens to attack the player, there is a lot going on during this battle, making it difficult to keep your attention on the boss at all times. In addition to having to defeat smaller enemies to create breathing room, Hexe Marie also has the ability to teleport across the field, meaning dealing damage to her is very tricky.
Hexe Marie is a perfect example of what I like to call a “jank” battle. It’s full of artificial difficulties just to frustrate the player, instead of being well designed with a smart attack pattern that rewards players’ attention to detail. The reason why Hexe Marie isn’t higher on this list is because once you know how to deal with this battle’s annoyances, it becomes much easier.

Myurdin, Avatar of the Umbra
Various Moveset
Myurdin, Avatar of the Umbra is a challenging fight for two reasons: you deal a terrible amount of damage and the fight consists of two brutal phases. The first stage is a challenge, yes, but it is the second stage that will give the player a chance to spend his money. Able to summon a wide variety of weapons, jump in the air and hit the ground, quickly lunge at the player, Murdin is full of unexpected and deadly attacks.

This guide explains how to get a jetpack in Crimson Desert.
It’s important to go into this battle with tons of health items, fully upgraded abilities, and your best armor equipped, or you really don’t stand a chance. I mean, it makes sense that this boss is so hard, considering it’s one of the final bosses of the game. Fortunately, despite the brutal challenge, Myurdin, Avatar of the Umbra is very well designed and is one of the best boss fights in the Crimson Desert.

Meet the Devil
A speed demon
The Reed Devil is considered the first major road blocker they will encounter on their journey through the Crimson Desert. This boss is a huge pain due to his incredible speed, fast attack patterns, and high damage output. Although Reed Devil has become much easier with various episodes, it is still very challenging and requires a ton of skill from the player.
Reed Devil’s attacks come in quick succession, forcing players to stay on their toes to avoid getting locked into extended combos. His mobility allows him to attack players from different angles, making it difficult to play defense or even hit him to deal any damage. Also, destroying Reed Devil decoys in the yard is very frustrating. The only reason Reed Devil ranks lower on this list is because his patterns become easier to spot after repeated attempts.
5
Kearush the Slayer
Absolute Powerhouse
Kearush the Slayer is one of the toughest boss battles in the Crimson Desert, and he earned that name because of his devastating power. One wrong move on this boss, and you’ll see your health bar dwindle to almost zero. And, despite Kearush the Slayer’s massive size, he’s still incredibly quick on his feet.
A poorly timed attack will result in Kearush countering and punishing the player, making it important to only attack when there is a clear opportunity. However, with Kearush always putting aggressive pressure on the player, getting a chance to attack is very difficult. This battle is a test of endurance, posture, patience, and knowing exactly when to commit to an attack.
4
One Armed Ludvig
Change in Game Modes
The reason One Armed Ludvig is such a difficult boss is because players face him almost immediately after switching to Oongka for the first time in the game. So far, players have spent nearly 40 hours controlling Kliff, learning his movements, speed, and abilities. Being forced to switch to Oongka in this fight with One-Armed Ludvig is not fair. It’s not fair as the player is not used to Oongka’s style of play, so it puts them in a critical situation.

This guide explains how to complete the Screaming Vault puzzle in Crimson Desert.
This wouldn’t be a big deal if the boss wasn’t as challenging as he is. One Armed Ludvig requires players to consistently dodge well, avoid lightning AoE attacks, and find small windows to attack in order to damage him, all the while learning Oungka’s gameplay. Yes, you can go out and practice with Oongka and then return to this battle, but that’s a pain when you’re looking to return to Kliff and continue the main story, which can only be done by defeating One Armed Ludvig.
3
The Forgotten General
The Illusionary Army
The Forgotten General is one of the most challenging bosses in Crimson Desert because the battle constantly overwhelms the player with multiple threats at once. Not only do you have to worry about the boss himself, and his quick attack patterns, but you also have to worry about his expensive army from each side of the field. There is just so much going on here that it can quickly become overwhelming.
Due to the Forgotten General’s extremely high health pool, this battle can feel like a chore full of frustration. Most of his attacks can clear a large portion of a player’s health bar in just a few hits, while his long combo strings leave very few opportunities to cool down or attack. To make matters worse, combat takes place in an enclosed arena that restricts movement, making it very difficult to avoid attacks.
2
Ator, Archon of Antumbra
No Room for Error
Ator, Archon of Antumbra, is one of the most intimidating bosses in the Crimson Desert because he combines speed with AoE magic attacks. Unlike slow bosses that allow players time to recover, Ator rarely gives players a moment to breathe. It’s a battle that requires quick wits to avoid magical projectiles and patience to fully understand Ator’s movements. Avoid attacking too late or too soon, and you can say goodbye to a good chunk of your health bar.
The biggest challenge with Ator is learning when it’s safe to attack. Players who run into him without fully understanding his movements will be punished immediately, making patience and precision essential to success. It was a battle that took me a lot of effort, making him one of the hardest bosses I faced in the Crimson Desert.
1
Beloth the Darksworn
It’s snow!
While the competition was pretty close on this list, the toughest boss in Crimson Desert is Beloth the Darksworn. This optional boss is a test of patience as it will probably take you a number of attempts to take him down. Beloth the Darksworn comes stacked with complex moves that include halberd swings, dashes, ground smashes, swinging combos, stabbing attacks, and even hail and tornadoes. This manager does it all.
Another reason why Beloth the Darksworn is such a pain is because you have to deal with a cold environment, which affects your stamina and halters movement. The gradual loss of stamina in addition to facing Beloth, who does a lot of damage, leaves few spaces for players to attack, and has a complex moveset, makes this the most challenging boss fight in the entire game.
