Deltarune: Flowery Boss Fight Guide
Anything is possible with the power of friendship!
Maybe for now, just enjoy the ride and try not to think too deeply about this one, despite its themes of independence and how that might relate to the desires of our Soul and Kris. Let’s take a look at the battle in Pink and how we can get our hands on the next Shadow Crystal.
Pink Fight Overview
So, the gimmick for this battle is now, purple! Or should I say, Fuchsia? Any of those who have played Undertale may remember this from Muffet go back, oh god… 2015. Instead of moving around the battlefield, you’re stuck in the 4-direction progression of most of Pink’s attacks.
Furthermore, you can’t hurt Pink directly here, because she’s a ghost that lives with a doll, Mew Mew from Undertale. Instead, you’ll need to fill him in Doki meter 3 times during the fight. You can do this by flirting or by giving him food.
At the end of each stage, you will enter a cooldown area, where you will need to answer 3 questions correctly to continue.
Team Strategy
As for what you need to do, it’s actually not too complicated. For Kris, you can focus on both to monitor or use things to heal the group, with you play with one love in good measure.
For Susie, you’ll usually be dumping you flirt with one to get Pink’s Doki Meter up to 5. He can also be a good healer with Green Tea.
As for Ralsei, he has a very important job. In this battle, you start with a greatly reduced TP bar. You will need to use Lovely Boy to boost your TP bar back up to at least 80%. Reaching 80% allows us to use the The Giga-Flirt ACTwhich increases the Doki Meter exponentially 10 points!
So, use one Flirt until you reach 5 Doki, then save your TP for Giga-Flirt. It is also worth mentioning that if one of your partners is down, a normal Flirt will give 2 Doki. So, if you want to play with more risk, you can try to finish this battle with only 2 members.
Be sure to fill your inventory with Green Tea, Revive Mints, or a special cooling party juice from the Castle Cafe Cending Machine. Pink takes a lot of damage if you lose focus.
Pink’s attack
Pink – Section 1
So, with the actions out of the way, let’s look at some of the attacks that Pink can use in the first phase of the fight.
|
The name of the attack |
Explanation |
How to Avoid |
|---|---|---|
|
Mew Mew Bullets |
Here, you will be stuck on 3 purple lines, with the ability to go up and down between them. Cats will come in from the sides, and little pink hearts, when collected, will give you a TP bonus. |
Just move up and down to avoid the cats, and try to catch the hearts before you get hit. |
|
Bomb grid |
Here, you are placed on a square grid of 16 dots. Pink will throw bombs, which will explode in a line, vertically and horizontally. |
As the bombs arrive, imagine a large signal from the bomb covering vertical and horizontal surfaces. You just need to go to any place not covered by those lines. These attacks go faster and faster, so you’ll need to start anticipating where the bombs will land. |
|
Concert of Pictures |
In the 5th attack, Pink will turn the field into a stage. The dummies will shoot you from the edge of the pit. If you get these hearts to hit Pink, she will release her hearts, which will heal you and give you TP. |
Stay near the top, and wait for Pink as she walks around. The heart letters will follow you for a while, so try to move in a circular motion. |
Once you reach 15 Doki, you will enter dating mode. In this case, you will need to answer 3 questions:
-
And you want to take me home? – YES
-
It’s because you think this body is beautiful, right? – YES
-
You…you wish you’d never met me, don’t you? – NO
Pink – Section 2
In the 2nd phase of the fight, your TP meter will be reset. In fact, in practice, this section is not that different from the previous one; you’ll just rinse and repeat. The only difference is that now you’ll probably be doing less damage, so you’ll need to weave in some pills while building TP.
Many previous attacks return, but in new patterns, so watch out for that. Pink has a new attack here, so let’s take a quick look at it:
|
The name of the attack |
Explanation |
How to Avoid |
|---|---|---|
|
Coin Toss |
You will be placed on a plus-shaped, 5-point grid. Full and half coins will appear on each side. |
Just navigate the grid, watch each direction and plan your moves in advance. Try to catch the big hearts as they give 3 TP each. |
|
The Lazer Tunnel |
Here, you will be placed in a tunnel filled with moving electric gates. You need to move forward to go deeper into the tunnel while being chased by the electric wall. |
Always look a few circles in front of where you really are. I found it very easy to move forward a few places at a time, pause, then move again. |
Pink will also include large bombs in her Bomb Grid attack, but you are given enough time to avoid this. Once you reach 15 Doki again, the second love scene will start.
Here, you need to give answers that satisfy both the doll and the ghost, so it’s a 2-meaning thing. Here are a few examples from a long list of questions:
-
Susie’s Jeans + Female Dog = Husky
-
How will you catch me? + Chicken Meat = Tender
-
My bike part + Action and boredom = Me Tire
-
What Metal Can? + Call us for scrap! = What Can
-
Pay attention to me? + Choose Noelle! = Spread over him
Remember, you’re trying to be nicer than a doll and mean ghost to satisfy both dates at the same time, so watch out for those answers that have double meanings, or are a little vague.
Pink – Section 3
In this section, Pink’s Doki meter will be increased to 20so you have to stay longer than the previous stages.
The interesting thing about phase 3 is that there are no new attacks to watch out for. Instead, each attack is made more difficult, building on what you’ve already learned.
-
I Coin Toss The attack now has a ghost kicking your cube, rotating it 90 degrees each time, which can be a bit distracting.
-
I Bomb grid now all the big bombs, which is, oddly enough, easy to dodge.
-
I Mew Mew Bullets and have Pink Bombs thrown at you, meaning you’ll have to go horizontally, instead of just going down.
When you hit 20 Doki, you will enter a strange type of courtship, where Pink will be suspended by green ropes, like Spamton Neo.
Here, you will need to move your Soul to reach it Pink Heartswhich will change destructive dialog boxes to positive ones. You will have to do this 4 times in total, being very careful to avoid the moving boxes. Take your time here, as there is no time limit. It would be very bad to lose here.
In the 4th attack, you will see a large snake line. You’ll need to make your way through this line while being chased by nasty dialog boxes! Fortunately, there are pink dots serve as safe zones. However, you’ll still need to move fast to get there in time, so hurry!
Once you’ve done this, just wait until you get to the next scene. You will need to select the following options:
- I’m afraid
- Anyone else
- Love Us Both
Finally, the doll and the ghost will meet again, and the war will end! Congratulations! That was very difficult!
Rewards
When you finish this battle, you will be given a The Shadowcrystal to add to your ever-growing collection.
In addition, in the collection all 19 Pink coinsyou can enter a new room north of the Hammer NPC, from the west room. Here, you can choose 3 flower items from a selection of 6, each worth 3 pink coins. You will find out again Floral Scarf once you make your choice!
