Get Ready for Some Fun

Minecraft Dungeons 2 has been officially revealed and will be released on September 29 of this year. DualShockers was on hand at the Summer Game Fest to accompany the game. Like the original game, Minecraft Dungeons 2 combines the iconic world of Minecraft with action-adventure RPG elements to create a family-friendly experience that can be enjoyed by all age groups.

Voxels: the backbone of creativity in games. From chaos to calm, these games prove how far a strong mind can go when done right.

Revealed at the Summer Game Fest, you don’t have to wait long to download Minecraft Dungeons 2, and it’s already is available for pre-order on Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch for a reasonable priceconsidering how many games shy away from having $100 price tags. As a result, you can look forward to a co-op ARPG that allows up to four players to play together over a local network or online without worrying about the price tag that will take the fun out of what could be a great choice for a family game night.

Minecraft Dungeons 2 Polishes The First Game’s Formula

Minecraft Dungeons 2 Combat

If you’ve played the first game, you’ll get that Minecraft Dungeons 2 isn’t trying to reinvent itself. I consider this a good feature in this case, because Minecraft Dungeons was an interesting game, so there is no need to make the sequence very different when the formula already works. At least, it seems so from the limited amount of content currently available.

The gameplay mechanics feel smoother than the first game, not like they’ve been changed, but like polished and refined based on how the gameplay worked in the original. This makes the controls feel familiar if you’ve played Minecraft Dungeons, but it’s also on par with other ARPGs.

While Minecraft focuses on building, Minecraft Dungeons 2 shifts its focus to combat. There are still some building blocks, though. That is, Art plays a role in your character’s missionso you can continue to collect items and resources that allow you to craft stronger gears, making it easier to enter stronger dungeons.

While Minecraft focuses on building, Minecraft Dungeons 2 shifts its focus to combat.

Overall, the gameplay is simple enough that new and younger players can pick it up and enjoy the adventure of using different environments and fighting monsters, which is great considering that the regular Minecraft game has a skewed younger audience, and Minecraft Dungeons 2 looks like a great way to introduce other game types using a familiar universe. At the same time, even seasoned ARPG players can find joy in the game if you’re looking for something a little more serious where the goal is to truly enjoy yourself, and I say this as someone who has put a ton of hours into the Diablo franchise.

Smooth Graphics, Minecraft Style Smoothing

Dungeons of Minecraft 2 Ghost Enemies

This was also the style in the first Minecraft dungeons. This graphic style is almost a combination of blocks and smooth textures, but I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks it feels weird to play a game based on Minecraft. without committing to the creation of Minecraft. Instead, Minecraft Dungeons 2 has a block-based style, but the environment design in particular seems to be smoother.

I can’t wait to torture my friends with a good Spin Dash in the background.

It’s not a bad style by nature, and I think it would look good in the first indie title, but if you have a game that is very popular with Minecraft and you create a spinoff of it like Minecraft Dungeon 2, there is an expectation that the graphics will be the same. If it was a decision made because of the animation and maybe because the camera angle might work better with the style used, I could understand that, but it takes you a little further away from the feeling of being in the Minecraft space.

What to Expect in Minecraft 2 Dungeons

Minecraft Dungeons 2 Player Group

It’s too early to judge what the full experience will be like in the release version, but so far, Minecraft Dungeons 2 is a fun dungeon crawler set in the Minecraft universe that you can play with your friends and family. The gameplay is straightforward, and the combat has a hack-and-slash feel that’s hard to mess up while still being fun.

I think it will not last very long to beat, as the first game can be completed in about 10 hoursunless you’re doing side content, grinding for gear, or playing through multiple issues. That’s the perfect length for a game meant to be played with others, though, as you don’t have to make a significant time commitment across multiple schedules.

If you’re looking for something more straightforward and about having a good time than a plot or heavy narrative, this will be a solid choice for you this fall. This is especially true if you have kids and want to spend time with them playing, as you can manage your party in places if you need to and are decent in ARPGs. I may not have seen everything that Minecraft Dungeons 2 has to offer, but what I have seen points to it an experience about having a good time with friendsand I think we all need more of that in our lives.
