Here’s Your Essential Free PlayStation Plus Games of the Month for May, 2026 – WGB

As we come to the end of yet another month, it’s time for another collection of free but not free games for PlayStation Plus. As always, you can add these to your library and download them whenever needed in the future, as long as you have an active PlayStation Plus subscription.
The new games below will be available on May 4th, which means you have plenty of time to pick up last month’s donations.
This month’s star theme is EA Sports FC 26 (PS4, PS5). I’m not a football fan, so I have nothing important to add here, except that I believe the goal is to get the ball into the other team’s net. Or something.
All I know is that it has an Opencritic rating of 80, which is pretty good. However, Steam user ratings tell a different story. It has a “mixed” rating out there. Some of that is due to performance, but there are a lot of complaints about the same game every year, various bugs and issues, and everything except Team Super mode being a mess.
“The club is yours in EA Sports FC 26. Play your way through a customized gaming experience fueled by feedback from the FC Community, and choose between Authentic Gameplay and Competitive Gameplay presets,” reads a quote on the PlayStation blog. “Find the team of your dreams in Football Ultimate Team, with live competitions and events, as well as the updated experience of Rivals and Champs. Enjoy the unrivaled authenticity in EA Sports FC 26, featuring 20,000+ players in 750+ clubs and national teams, in more than 120+ stadiums and more than 135+ league arenas”
Next, we have it Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (PS5). This is a soulful single-player RPG, boasting a 76 on Opencritic and an “excellent” rating on Steam.
I’ve been interested in trying this one at some point, though I can’t argue with things like soul these days.
“In this action-like Souls RPG, the female villain Wuchang wakes up in the turbulent last years of China’s Ming Dynasty with no memories of her past. The land of Shu is plagued by warring factions and a mysterious phenomenon known as Feathering that causes people to transform into monstrous monsters. Now she herself is plagued by Wust, Wuthering, Wust must interact with this world, tortured, explored world. fight vicious and twisted enemies, discover hidden weapons and ancient guns, reap new abilities from defeated enemies and embrace the power of Feathering to find the truth at the heart of chaos.
Finally, we have it Nine Sols (PS5, PS4)a great 2D action-platformer. It’s a few years old now, but it has a strong 86 on Opencritic and an “excellent” on Steam.
“Nine Sols is a rich, hand-drawn 2D Sekiro-inspired, turn-based combat platformer. Face ancient gods, explore a land once ruled by an ancient race, and follow a vengeful hero on a quest to kill the 9 Sols—the powerful rulers of this doomed empire.”
How do you feel about this month’s selection? Personally, it doesn’t do much for me. Nine Sols is probably my highlight as it looks fun. As much as I want to check out Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, I probably won’t be able to. And football is about as interesting to me as watching a documentary about paint drying.
