How to Beat Aeonglass in Slay The Spire 2

If you’re an avid fan of Slay the Spire 2, like me, and you’ve been playing in the public beta branch of this excellent crafting Roguelike, you’ll know that we seem to be missing some familiar faces.

Door Makerlove him or hate him, he’s been banished to the shadows, or rather, shoved in a box at the back of the Mega Crit closet for a major overhaul somewhere down the line. At first, this Act 3 boss was puover, but with a little rework, it became more punishing. Now, it seems that it was actually easier to just install Doormaker altogether.

Slay The Spire 2: Best Build Build

It is double, double toil and trouble; The fire burns, and the cauldron bubbles.

Say hello to Aeonglass, an employer with a large amount of HP and light armor. Although maybe this was for the best. I’m sure we’ll see the Doormaker again, maybe when the second variant of Act 3 is released, after a while. But for now, let’s take a look at this new boss, and how he can take them down!

Meeting Mechanics

Figures and Motion

Kill the Spire 2 Aeonglass Fight

If you thought Doormaker was too complicated, this boss is pretty easy in comparison. Here is a breakdown of the passive stats managed by Aeonglass:

Basic math

Explanation

HP (535)

While this is a very large health pool, it is actually slightly lower than Doormaker, Probe and Queen, if you include additional minions/forms.

Artifact (3)

This is quite brutal, especially for those decks that work with heavy maintenance, such as Vulnerable, Doom and Poison.

New Presence (4)

This is a new exclusive mechanic for Aeonglass. For every 4 non-status cards you play, a Wither card will be added to your hand.

In terms of movement, Aeonglass has a very easy turn, with only 3 moves before cycling back to the start. These movies are as follows:

  1. In the first gym, Aeonglass will deal 32 damage and cause a Debuff to the player. This debuff is called Ebb and will reduce your Strength and Stamina by 3 for the next turn only.

  2. Next, Aeonglass will hit you with a 12×2 attack.

  3. Finally, Aeonglass will block with 33 damage protection while increasing its strength by 4. At this point, the manager will go around and come back to deliver order 1.

This boss scales very quickly, with that 4 extra power every 3 turns, dealing a lot of damage. This is especially problematic with the 12×2 attack, which is from a 24-hit to him a 32-hit. For any build looking to reduce Aeonglass Power or use something like Weak, removing that Artifact is important.

Contains Withering

Open Spire 2

So the biggest difficulty of this battle is actually not the boss itself, but managing the new mechanic.

Every time you play 4 cards, you will get a withering status card added to your hand. It has the following effect:

  • Save. At the end of your turn, if this is in your hand, take 2 damage. Finish it.

This doesn’t seem that scary at first, until you see how many cards you end up playing at the end of stage Act 3. Some powerful decks in Slay the Spire 2 rely on it. heavy cycling card, You continuously play cards that give power and draw cards, rotating through the deck and playing as many cards as possible.

This boss caters specifically to this type of play style, punishing you for playing too many cards. In this way, the manager is like Time Eater from Slay the Spire 1. Decks like Shiv- Be quiet or Nail-Flaws hating to run against that boss.

If you don’t count your cards as you play them, you can end up with 3–4 fades at the end of the turn. And worst of all, these status cards have Saveso if you don’t get rid of them, they will stay in your hand and keep hurting you all the time. You can try to get rid of them, but of course, they will come back and brick your hand later.

The best thing you can do is try finish by playing them. This will cost you 1 powerhowever, that means you have less power to play your important cards. Whatever you do, don’t let the Burners build too long, or you’ll be dead before you know it.

Boss Strategies

Removing Withering

So there are a few ways you can play against Aeonglass, and it helps to start building these types of decks as soon as you know you’re going to be fighting this boss. Or in between Ascension 10think you’re going to stand up to Aeonlass because of the double Action 3 boss.

So, if you want to play a lot of cards, you will collect a lot of Withers. This is not really a problem the Ironcladits a very powerful deck that revolves around eliminating a large number of cards with things like this A Forgotten Tradition, Second Wind again Fiend Fire.

Kill the Spire 2 Flak Cannon

Similar to Defect, you can build around Wither by taking similar cards Compact, Smokestack again Flak Cannon. These cards eventually turn status cards into real fuel, making your attacks more powerful when you have more status cards. And you have a lot of rounds here with similar cards Overclock again Turbowhich in turn generates more status cards.

High Energy Costs! Big Damage! What don’t you like?

If you can’t get rid of the Withers, you always can throw them away with Be quietor try to convert them with Regent Minion cards.

It’s slow and steady

Slay the Spire 2 Heavenly Drill

Alternatively, you can use the default method strong cards with high value or cards that deal increasing damage over time.

For example, decks that use multiple X cards are similar A star again Heavenly Drill with The Regentor Finish it with The Necrobinderare good here, as they rely on one powerful card instead of playing many.

In the same way, decks like to play big expensive cards, like Chaos-Feature porch, Power-Ironclad, or even The Bury-Necromancergood job here too. Just try to clear the Artifact counters as quickly as possible to lay low I’m in danger with great effect.

Finally, Toxic floors again Disaster builds and it works, as most of the damage comes from building up time. The cards are similar Hurry Up, No Escape, again Reaper Form they’re smart because they start out slow but ramp up to ridiculously high numbers quickly.
