How to Complete a Tox Clears Marathon

Marathon has several small tasks that you can complete as you run around each map. These activities can appear as several things, but the one we will focus on is Tox Clears.
In this action shooter, Tox Clears will spawn randomly at various POIs and will contain better than average loot if you can access them. It can be a great way to get solid loot without being overly dangerous, like the key boxes.
You have probably seen the rooms or maybe entered and tried your hand at looting them without removing the poison. That’s not a bad idea, but there is a way to detox and get inside so you can loot to your heart’s content.

How to Complete Tox Clears
If you’re hoping to enter one of these toxic rooms, you’ll need to do a few things first. It’s not overly complicated to make them, but you’ll probably always notice that they haven’t been hacked.
Entering the room requires an Exclusion Card and making your way to one of the Tox Clear operations. There are a few conditions to that, so let’s get right into it.

Where to get an Accident Exemption Card
Hazard Removal Cards are random and can appear on any map, but for the most part, you’ll end up finding them around the map, not in containers, like Access Clearance Codes. If you can find it, it’s not a bad idea to go to the POI searching for one of the Tox Clears for more loot.
They can also be stored in your Vault if you’re not in a situation where you can’t go Tox Clear, but want to hold onto it for a later run. There is another way to do Tox Clears without needing a Hazard Override Card, but it makes it a lot easier.

This guide explains how to play as a Rook in Marathon.
Entering the Poison Room
If you have a Hazard Override card, when you approach Tox Clear, look outside the room. You will be able to see an orange laptop shaped computer that you can interact with.
This will remove the Hazard Removal Card from your inventory, but will shut off the gas flowing in the room after a few seconds. You’ll get an announcement that it’s safe to log in, and you can log in and unlock your goblin loot.
The gas will reappear after a minute or two, so make sure you loot quickly.
If you don’t have a Hazard Override Card, you can still get inside, but you’ll need at least some of these items.
- Mechanic’s kit – Eliminates the toxic effect
- Health Services – Will heal the damage done by the poison effect
- Triage Med-Drone — This can heal tick damage
Once inside, there should be a few chests for you to loot that will contain rare and unusual loot. It is possible that other types of boxes can spawn in the room as well, so you have to be careful.
Just remember that you are not alone in Tau Ceti IV, and if you activate the room, it will start a massive alarm while emptying the room. If you have a good booty, you will probably always run into people, so try to be careful and make sure you get your booty out.
