How To Get Started In The Jungle DLC

Dave the Diver’s Into the Jungle DLC has finally arrived after a year or so of anticipation, with players eager to dive into the biggest post-game content yet. However, given that previous DLCs in the game’s lineup, namely the Godzilla collab and Ichiban’s Holiday, require certain degrees of story completion, it’s a valid question to ask if Into the Jungle expects the same. As it turns out, the requirements to start the DLC have definitely changed, thanks in large part to the community’s response.
If you’re wondering what it takes to get things going, here’s how to get started with the Dave the Diver’s Into the Jungle DLC, with details about its game length and, spoilers aside, what to expect.

How long is Dave the Diver’s Into the Jungle DLC?
Dave the Diver’s ‘Into the Jungle’ DLC is its most ambitious post-game content yet, and certainly the most lacking in terms of the sheer amount of things to do and the average amount of time it takes to get through the story and everything that goes with it.
The main storyline of Into the Jungle takes a measure 7-8 hours to complete, while completing all the side quests, mini-games, and other additional content improve your game time 18-20 hours. This puts it roughly on par with the game’s core story, which spans the entire universe 25 to 30 hours. It means you’ll be able to spend plenty of time in Uttara, exploring the forest and all it has to offer, with plenty to do in your area and beyond.
How to Get Started in the Jungle DLC for Dave the Diver
Starting Dave the Diver’s Into the Jungle DLC is actually a simple process. Originally, the requirement would have required players to complete the entire main storyline of the base game before being able to access the new content. However, in fairness to the entire community, especially those who may no longer have a save game file, that is no longer the case.
If you wish, you can start the Into the Jungle DLC immediately, without a basic save file present. Make sure you have purchased the DLC ($9.99 USD) for the platform you want and have it fully downloaded and updated. Launch the game, and you will be prompted in the title menu that Into the Jungle is installed and available to play. You can start it from an existing save file (depending on your progress), or quickly from the title menu without a save file, effectively skipping the entire base story until you get to the DLC events.
If you have a base game save file that includes progress up to the main plot pointyou can start the DLC from that point as a natural way to progress. While on your boat with Cobra, Dr. Bacon should approach you in his boat and start a mission called “Friends” which starts the DLC. If you don’t see him, try to dive and return to the boat to trigger his appearance.
Otherwise, if you choose to start the DLC without a save file, you will be immediately taken to the boat with the Cobra, and the first quest will happen in the same way, where Dr. Bacon will visit you. Whichever option you choose, follow the quest objectives for friends, and soon you and the gang will be entering the jungle on your next big adventure.
Into the Jungle is currently available on all major platforms, including PC (Steam), iOS, Nintendo Switch 1 & 2, XBOX, and PlayStation 5.
