How to Win the Silent Auction Bidding War in Life Is Amazing: Reuniting

During your time with Life is Strange Reunion, you’ll be solving an upcoming mystery at Caledon University with both Max and Chloe or just exploring to see if you can uncover any clues or hints to take your mind off things.

However, one of those optional items happens to be a silent auction of sorts that takes place during the Open Mic Night scene at the Snapping Turtle Bar. While your main goal is to learn details about the mystery from the bar patrons, Max has a chance to win a handmade sculpture here. And this will also get you a hidden medal/achievement if you will complete the game 100%.

How to Win the Silent Auction Bidding War

Make a First Bid and Attend Amanda’s Stand-Up Comedy

As soon as the scene/chapter starts, you’ll be tasked with talking to Amanda and Vinh to learn anything new going on around Lakeport and Caledon’s points of interest. However, before doing that, I highly recommend that we start with a real bidding war here.

Easter Egg: For those who don’t know or haven’t played that entry, this statue was actually hand made by Charlotte. One of the main characters from Life is Strange: True Colors. Guess she should have forwarded it to Amanda to bid on Snapping Turtle Bar herself or other sources.

Go to the table with the familiar looking sculpture and examine it. You should now have the option to check any of the other bid lists on the table, but most importantly, look at the Image Bid Sheet clipboard. Once instructed, add Max’s bid to the sheet so that he can put his hand in the competition.

For now, go talk to Amanda and Vinh and continue to fulfill your first set of main story objectives in this scene. After that, go successfully listen to Amanda’s jokes a moment without that boy’s interference.

Make a Second Bid and Talk to Lucas

When you’re done with Amanda’s antics, make an arrow straight back to the bidding table, and you should now be able to check the Image Bid Sheet again to notice that Vinh has placed the highest bid. And, of course, Max won’t let this slide so easily, so you try to outbid him again with a bid of $200. That should show him… right?

After submitting a new bid, keep talking to Lucas normally to continue your investigation. Obviously, he is giving us the cold shoulder. You’ll need to stop by here, ask him about any new novels, and go check out his business card with the podcast audio clip on it.

Once you’ve listened to it, go back again, and this time, when you sit down to chat with him, you should be able to sweet-talk him about your praise for his anti-education podcast. Once Max has learned all he needs to from Lucas on Fremont Street, it’s time to leave the bar, but not yet.

Vinh Vinh on Cheating and Win the Silent Auction

Don’t go in that front door just yet; we need to win that auction, remember. Go back to the table and check the sheet again, which reveals that Vinh has yet another bid that is higher than ours. Make a final counter bid, and you’ll be treated to a cutscene there Vinh sneaks up behind us at the last second to cheat and steal Max’s picture.

Fortunately for us, all we need to do is postpone it just before this situation occurs. Checking the Image Bid Sheet should now let you bid and steal the pen to make sure Vinh doesn’t cheat again. This will allow you to win the auction and the art drawing, getting “One Go… Two Goes!” trophy/achievement.

Oh, and a fun fact: if you continue this scene through your entire playthrough, the sculpture will also appear in Max’s house (during the Reunion chapter/episode) as a nice new addition to his interior decorations.
