There are a number of popular weapons in Borderlands 4, but this article will focus on assault rifles. In the base game, there are 17 legendary guns, and a few more in the DLCs, but not all of them are worth farming.
Let’s break down the best fantasy guns you can find in Borderlands 4 and where to find them.

The Lumberjack
Timber
If you find yourself in the southern part of the Idolator’s Noose in the Fadefields, you may leave. fight the Foundry Freaks getting your hands on the Lumberjack, as it is one of the most powerful guns in the game.
This assault rifle has a lot of damage, as it can cut down enemies in quick succession, and it does so with chainsaw bullets. Of course, this weapon shoots chainsaws.
These blades can jump from above, and when they touch an enemy, a special ability allows the blades to deal constant damage over time. Despite all of this, the Lumberjack falls short of the other weapons on the list.
7
Bubbles
Squeaky Clean
Starting things off is a gun that will clean up your enemies with elemental damage procs, and they’re called bubbles. This weapon was dropped by Chiselbella in the Legend of the Stone Demon DLC, so if you don’t have this DLC, this weapon will not be available to you.
What makes this weapon different is that it fires bubbles instead of regular bullets. Don’t let this fool you, as Bubbles is a beast when it comes to basic build, making it great for characters like Harlowe and Vex.
Additionally, this weapon falls into all categories, so you can pick and choose which one you like. Think of this weapon as a variant of the Plasma Coil assault rifle.

Borderlands may have a bazillion guns, but these ten are the weirdest you’ll find in the entire series.

Aegon’s dream
Game of Thrones
You may have heard of a little book and television series called Game of Thrones. If not, we forgive you, but you will not fully understand the reference behind Aegon’s Dream.
As far as popular assault rifles go, Aegon’s Dream deserves to be on the list due to its incredible rate of fire and powerful flames. This weapon only shows up as incendiary and cryo, but it packs a punch if you give it to a character built around the initial damage.
This weapon’s special effect allows it to fire cryo ammo alongside incendiary bullets. This weapon found early in the game from Horace in Horace Oversight.
5
GMR
Point it out
The GMR packs a bit more punch than previous weapons in the lineup, but it only does so in range. Big Name Hunter is the special ability of this weapon, and it increases GMR damage by 100% if you aim to undermine.
Unfortunately, you’ll likely use this weapon to hip-fire, meaning you won’t get the full benefit of its abilities. Despite this, it still hits hard, but skill can be a hindrance.
You can get your hands on this weapon around the middle of the campaign by fighting the Driller Hole. It drops often, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding it.

Not Lucian’s Phone
You may remember Lucian’s Phone from Borderlands 3. Well, it returns in Borderlands 4 with some minor changes in appearance, but it retains its main ability that made it great in Borderlands 3.
Lucian’s Flank boasts a high rate of fire, enabling it to mow down enemies in your path, but shines when you land critical hits. Every time you hit a critical hit with this weapon, it returns two bullets to the magazine. If you keep getting critical hits, you don’t run out of weapons, and it’s pretty awesome.
You can get your hands on this powerful weapon with farming Meathead Riders in Old Scrape. It is worth the effort of farming.
Borderlands 4: Rock Roller Zone and Loot Drops
The Rocken Roller is the only pangolin boss in Borderlands 4, but it drops one of the most powerful weapons in the game, so farming is a must.
3
Bonnie and Clyde
The Dynamic Duo
Named after the famous duo, Bonnie and Clyde is a popular assault rifle that features a normal shooting mode and an under-barrel gun. The skill, Pair of Thieves, gives 100% bonus damage in the other fire mode of the gun and refills its magazine whenever you kill an enemy.
This gun takes some getting used to because you need to change fire patterns on it frequently. If you get a kill using the main fire mode, you need to switch to the submachine gun, as it will be hit by the gun’s ability. The same thing happens when you get a kill using a gun. Apart from this trick, it is very powerful, and you can always keep a buff on it while cutting down enemies.
You will get this weapon with Farming Directive-0 in the Terminus region. Directive-0 is found in the Iron Wall Resolve Bunker.
2
Oscar Mike
Space Laser
Oscar Mike is one of the most powerful weapons in Borderlands 4, and it’s because of one thing: space lasers. Thanks to this weapon’s popular alt-fire mode, you can summon a space laser that can completely eliminate bosses from being there.
Don’t think that you should rely on the alt-fire mode of this weapon, as the main fire mode is also very powerful, the Tactical Rounds ability reduces the damage of the first part of the magazine by 50%.
This is the best weapon that is good for all situations, and you can get it from one of the optional bosses of the game. To find Oscar Mike, you’ll just need to Genone farm, which belongs to the Society of Amateur Seismology Enthusiasts.
1
Wombo Combo
Bonus rockets
In general, the Wombo Combo is one of the highest DPS weapons in Borderlands 4. It has one of the fastest rates of fire, allowing it to mow down enemies left and right.
Its bonus ability, Rip Rockets, allows it to shoot rockets from its lower barrel as it fires a weapon. This gives more splash damage that you can use with various vault hunting skills.
If there’s an assault rifle you should have on your character, this is it, and you can get it plowing Rippa Road birds in Saw’s Clench Ripper Drill area in the Ruined Sumplands in the Carcadia Burn.
