Cleansheet 2 – Keeping Goalies in VR Get a Big Fix.
CleanSheet it’s getting a major overhaul, and this time the developers have added everything I wanted in the first game. Now there’s a Platinum Medal, Career Mode, tons of arenas, more game modes, leaderboards, and detailed tracking of everything you do.
I’m always on the lookout for sports games in VR because, let’s be honest, most of them suck. The first one CleanSheet it was a great experience when it was launched last year. It took away some of that addictive fun Principal I was on PS VR, but something was missing. I wanted more, and thankfully that is exactly what this poem delivers.

Good, But Not Perfect…
Before you read on, no, this is not a great gym, training, or goalie simulator. There are still a few annoyances here and there. One of the ways, Select Saveit just didn’t work well for me because it refused to register some of them my two handed saves. My other complaint is obvious: why aren’t the backgrounds and skyboxes held to the same quality level as the rest of the game? Dim houses, fields, and distant places spoil the immersion that this game does a good job of creating.
Speaking of diving, there were countless times today where I caught myself stopping before diving straight down to save the ball. I’ve jumped, jumped, stretched, and almost thrown myself across the room just to beat my friends on the leaderboards. Seriously, I had no idea this could be so much fun. The addition of a Career Mode and a very generous, rewarding trophy list certainly helps, but the game itself is what keeps me coming back.

Content, Content, Content…
The small amount of new content is amazing. Between the new drills, game modes, matchday challenges, and incredibly fun goal editor, I found myself hooked for hours. Thanks to the progression programs and the Career Mode that appealed to me (and probably many others), I’m sure I’ll continue to squeeze more hours into this one.
For the most part, the game was completely free of jank during my time with it, at least until I got there Select Save mode. Although I can hit balls well with one hand, two hands do not work at all. I’m currently struggling to progress in the team effort because my score isn’t high enough due to tracking issues.

An Amazing Game, And A Hard Workout…
The graphics, sound, and presentation are all very solid—except for the dim backgrounds. Balls, hands, menus, and field materials all look clean and tidy. Navigating the menus can be a little confusing at first because there is so much content thrown at you right away. I spent a long time trying to figure out how to access Career Mode before I finally realized that progressing had to do with completing daily and weekly challenges.
The decision
CleanSheet 2 first and foremost it is a training and goalie simulator, but thanks to its progression systems, Career Mode, achievements, and leaderboards, it succeeds as a truly addictive game as well.
A few tweaks and fixes will make it even better, and I hope the developers will address some of the minor issues I encountered.
Still, this is a huge improvement over the original and a game that will keep me coming back for “just one save” much longer than I originally expected.
