Former Amazon executive joins F5; Microsoft security CVP is leaving; Qualtrics adds leadership – GeekWire

– F5 said to be the CEO of Amazon Cathy Peterman as executive vice president and chief people officer of a Seattle-based application delivery and security company. In May, F5 celebrated its 30th year in business.
“Cathy brings an extraordinary combination of strategic depth and genuine personality that will raise the bar on how we invest in our people,” CEO François Locoh-Donou said in a statement. “He and I respect culture and its impact on driving sustainable results.”
Peterman joins F5 from Wayfair, where he served as CPO of the retail company’s technology organization. Prior to that, he was with Amazon for more than five years, leaving as HR director of advertising products and technology.

– After more than 27 years at Microsoft, Rudra Mitra he has announced his departure. He is leaving the role of business vice president and head of Microsoft Security Purview, a data security and governance group focused on artificial intelligence and AI agents.
Mitra joined the Redmond, Wash.-based tech giant right out of college as a software engineer. He led work on products including Office, Windows Live and Microsoft 365 Cloud Infrastructure.
“Microsoft is a very special place full of incredibly talented people, and this decision comes with gratitude, excitement and hope for the future,” he said on LinkedIn. Mitra didn’t share his next step, saying only that “there’s more on that soon.”

– Markham McIntyrewho once led Seattle’s Office of Economic Development, is now executive director of Climate Changedescribed as “a project designed to accelerate the deployment of climate policies and market solutions in Washington.”
This effort works with corporations, heavy industry, government, developers, advocates, and philanthropy, and is a partnership between Earth Finance, Climate Solutions and the Stolte Foundation.
Prior to his role with the city of Seattle, McIntyre was with the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber for more than eight years, leaving in 2022 as executive vice president.

- Adam Block named chief sales officer, he joined Motive where he was chief revenue officer.
- Ken Coleman has been named senior vice president of marketing, from Ramsey Solutions.
- Khoi Hoang named leader of the global sales engineering organization, joining Salesforce.
- Aaron Ellis has been appointed as the company’s sales leader, joining from Labor Day.
Qualtrics previously shared the news it was promoting Ken Hoang to senior vice president of product.
– Jay ShankarAmazon’s former vice president of global talent acquisition, has joined Uber in the same role. Shankar, who is based in San Francisco, resigned from Amazon in December. Previous employers include Adobe and BMC Software.
“When I joined AWS almost 8 years ago to lead recruiting, I had never run a talent acquisition organization. What I found was a group of developers who showed me that this profession is about investing in people and focusing on customer needs,” Shankar said on LinkedIn.
– Jamie Boyd joined Seattle’s advisory board GemaTEGbuilding technology to manage the heat generated by computer chips. Boyd is the founder of Cypress Capital Holdings and previously helped build Cascadia, an investment banking franchise focused on energy and climate technologies.
– Seattle immigration tech startup Casium so called Kat Kelley as its lead to market. Kelley joins from Teaching Strategies, a digital education company, and previous employers include Rectxt and Brightwheel.
– Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosatia company specializing in corporate and technology-focused legal work, announced that Say Kayam He joined as a consultant in Seattle, expanding the company’s healthcare management team.
– Rogo so called Joe Xavier as chief technology officer of a financial platform based in New York. Earlier in his career, Xavier held leadership roles at Amazon and Microsoft, and most recently served as CTO of Grammarly. At Rogo, he will help establish the San Francisco office.
