How to Get Panthalus in Palworld

Palworld’s long-awaited 1.0 release brings a surprisingly wide variety of new Pals to add to the game’s already large roster. While many of them are encountered in the Palpagos areas, traditionally, a select few usually require more effort to find. Plus, sometimes there’s one Pal in particular that makes you jump through hoops to see you as worthy of his attention, at least part of your collection.
A prime example of that is Panthalus, a giant whale that can only be seen by those who accomplish certain goals. You’ll also need it to get to the legendary world tree north of Palpagos, so if you’re wondering how to get this legendary monster, here’s how to find Panthalus in Palworld.
All Echobone locations
Unlike other Pals, Panthalus isn’t one that roams freely around the map, or that you’ll find in a fixed location like most of the game’s alpha bosses. Instead, it’s a matter of summoning this great mythical whale monster, and you’ll need the right tools to do so. To start, make sure you click the button The main work of ‘Panthalus’ from the Researcher of Ancient Civilizations (seen above), located in a small area Deserted Island of -170,33.
They will say that you need to find a few different things called Echobonesand disperse to Palpagos. They are four Echobones for everything you need to find and collect, and they will be lying on the ground in their respective places, with an orange light coming from them to help them stand out from afar. Having a flying Pal to speed up the process is highly recommended.
Marine Echobone
The Marine Echobone is found in a partially submerged skeleton’s skull near the Grassy Behemoth Hills.
Echobone is silent
The Silent Echobone is found inside the skull of another partially submerged skeleton between Mossanda Forest and Eastern Wild Island. This is also where you will find the alpha boss of Jormuntide (Level 55) swimming.
Seafoam Echobone
The Seafoam Echobone is found on the island of Mount Obsidian, specifically inside the skeleton south of the Searched Obsidian Watchtower.
Tidewind Echobone
The Tidewind Echobone is found high up in the Astral Mountains, specifically on a skeleton near the Land of Absolute Zero teleport. Note that the skeleton is on top of the small frozen lake, not the one to the north on the cliffs.
How to Craft Echoing Flute in Palworld
Once you have all four Echobones, go back and talk to the Ancient Civilization Researcher at Deserted Islet. You’ll find a recipe for the Echoing Flute, which you’ll need to summon Panthalus. With that, return to your base of choice, and you can complete this task on a basic Primitive Workbench, or any Production Assembly Line machine.
After the craft is done, return to the Deserted Islet and talk to the Ancient Civilization Researcher. A nearby stone will light up, indicating that Panthalus is now open to you.
Similar to Tower Bases and Boss Dungeons, interact with it twice to be taken directly to the arena where Panthalus will be waiting for you. A short, unique scene will also play when your character blows on the Echoing Flute.
How to Defeat Panthalus
Once you interact with the glowing stone and play the Echoing Flute, you will automatically be transported to a sea-themed arena where Panthalus resides. Only you 10 minutes defeat Panthalus in this encounter, too the timer starts as soon as you enter the areaso don’t stay too long.
Panthalus a Level 70 boss with a lot of healthso having your character and your Companion at Level 75-80 is highly recommended. Ancient armor or better, and enough shield (Hyper Shield at least), and heavy armor is fine.
Pal Swim Speed is increased in this platform, so use it if you have strong Pals with strong attacks!
Panthalus is also a water-type Pal, therefore Electric-based Pals they are the best counter on the elemental front. Flying Pals are also handy to help dodge other ranged attacks while dishing out long-range damage attacks of their own. Accessories such as Double Jump Boots or Air Dash Boots it can also help you avoid these attacks easily.
Panthalus will start the fight with ranged combat in the water, so ranged weapons that can deal damage at a significant distance are good here. Their main attacks are all water-based, including a bunch of bubbles from their head, and they’re homing, so you’ll need to dodge properly to minimize damage from them.
Other attacks include an array of geysers that surround the arena, and Panthalus will also occasionally jump up and dive underwater to ambush you.
The wave attack that Panthalus will cause by moving his body to the side, so be ready to run to the side when that appears. If Panthalus is down to half health or down, it will release a faraway, huge wave that you will get a warning on screen about, and you can use the super boost near the beach island to jump up into the air and avoid it. If not, you’ll take a lot of damage and may even wipe out completely.
How to Catch Panthalus
Once Panthalus’ life is gone, you’ll have a chance to capture it, too any type of Pal Sphere will work. Don’t waste your high quality Spheres, so stick to basic Pal Spheres. The platform also has some scattered, so use them if needed. The capture will succeed on the first try and then the battle is over.
Note that Panthalus can be added to your party, and you can fly it without making a saddle first or worrying about stamina. Panthalus can also be placed on the base as a protective Pal, but it has no practical merit due to its large size.
How to Use Panthalus to Enter the World Tree
Panthalus’ main purpose, at least to begin with, is to help you get into the World Tree and its surrounding biome as part of the main story. Once you have Panthalus in your party, make your way to the area in front of the World Tree and the big obstacle. Jump into your flying and/or swimming Pal from the northwest side of Astral Mountain, though make sure you have the strength to make the trip.
Alternatively, you can use Panthalus for this so you don’t have to worry about durability. Also, as mentioned before, you don’t need to make a saddle to ride yourself, so even though it might take a while, it’s not a bad decision.
Either way, once you’re on the beach there, go up the winding path to the platform where you’ll find a base to communicate with. Also make sure to open the Foot of the World Tree teleport statue nearby.
A cutscene will then play where Panthalus appears and forces the barrier to disappear, allowing you to enter a new area. The World Tree region is technically different from the rest of Palpagos, but you can teleport directly from your location or another eagle statue if you have at least one teleport point within the World Tree enabled.
