Palworld: Where to find Chromite

There are lots of tools and materials is found scattered throughout the vast Palworld.

Most of these ores come in the form of large, shiny deposits, which are very easy to see. Just walk up to them and smack them with your pocket! Easy-peasy!

However, there is one type of metal, Chromitewhich works differently from others, and you will need a good amount to make one of the latest game Ingots!

Let’s take a look at Chromite and how to get as much of it as possible!

Discovering the Smokie

So, Chromite works a little differently: large ore deposits are actually found underground. So how do we reveal ourselves to the world?

However, there are 2 main methods. You can build a Metal Detector you, open to Section 58. Or, you can choose a better and cooler option, which is to take a selfie with Smokie!

To find this Pal, go to Shield Dragon Tunnel Fast travel area and explore the large area in front of the cave. Usually, there are a bunch of Smokie running in this place day and night!

Building a Harness

Once you’ve captured Smokie, return to your Base and head to Pal Gear Workbenchwhere you make Harnesses. You will need to craft a Harness to use Smokie’s Special Ability. Here are the things you will need:

20x Leather
50x Fiber
5x Black Pieces
40x Paldium Pieces

To use this ability, simply make Smokie your own A working friendand press the skill button to activate “Dig, Dog. Dig!”

Where to Find Chromite Deposits

So, you have your Smokie, harnessed. Return to the Shield Dragon Tunnel Entrance and go inside. Continue through the winding tunnel, and take out the Silvegis inside.

If you buff Smokie, or simply level it up with Starfruit, you’ll get an increased amount of Chromite for activating it around you.

Now, just use Smokie’s ability in the room, and you’ll get a bunch of Chromite Deposits! Every time you do one of these, as long as Smokie is around you, you will win over 200 Chromites per deposit! After a few trips back and forth, you’ll have more than enough Chromite to last you a lifetime!

Uses of Chromite

So, you’ve got yourself a good amount of Chromite. What can we use this instrument for? Well, honestly, not much! In fact, Chromite is only used to create Hexolite Ingot.

Thing is, this Ingot is ridiculously useful, as you’ll need a large amount to craft late-game gear. To create an ingot, you will need 1 piece of Chromite next to 1 piece of Hexolite Quartz. Produce as many Hexolite Ingots as possible to craft late game weapons, workstations, spheres and more!
